UK Forum Manager on Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for PS3: See the press release

On the official Ubisoft forums the UK Forum Manager has debunked yesterday's rumor that said that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is not coming to the PlayStation 3.

A forum member asked this: "Why is it only listed as 360 and PC? This is 4 PS3 as well right? Obviously that's the assumption since you're announcing it here. Could you confirm because the rumors are already flying that this is a 360/Windows exclusive."

UK Forum Manager ms-kleaneasy's answer is: "This weeks press release………".

She quotes the whole press release in her reply putting emphasis on "announced that it is developing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas 2 for next-generation consoles and PC."

A killer game on BOTH consoles ... wow, what a hard concept to grasp.

I smelled bullsh!t on this soon as I read it and knew it would be on both consoles.

that ASSURED the gaming world that she would be the first to know and the first to tell if HAZE was delayed....then the next day admitted she DIDN'T know it ahead of time.

Exactly. Why point to an ambiguous press release? Why not specify, once and for all that it will/will not be coming to the PS3? I don't understand why gaming companies have to be so hush-hush about everything. Even if they aren't 100% sure about the PS3 yet, they could just say that they are considering it, but haven't made a decision yet. Her statement clarifies nothing. Stupid PR people.

6 - Could be several reasons that the PS3 doesn't get it.

But I'd say it will get it, just not when the Xbox 360 and PC get it. It's really to early to tell until UBI makes a crystal clear official announcement on this.

But as of this moment UBI's website doesn't have the PS3 as getting the game. Just the Xbox 360 and the PC. Go check yourself.

7 - THis is good info for the true gamers who own PS3's and actulay buy games.

The problem for developers is not development at this point but how many PS3 owners will buy your game. I have few friends with PS3's and 360's but buy all the multi platform games for the 360. They only own like 1 or 2 PS3 games and have like 10 or more 360 games.

The PS3 has games on the shelves but allot of them feel like passable games I guess since I have chosen not to even waste my money on a PS3. I would hate to even have to defend it at this point.

It still says 360/PC. Why isn't the PS3 version there in the first place? If not console exclusive for the 360, probably the PS3 version 6 months later and maybe that's why it's not listed yet???

Look at TheMART digging for something. Even if it is, we have better FPS coming out next year anyways. And Socom. You can keep Rainbow Six 2. However, I dont think thats the case.

next-gen consoles doesn't mean all the different xbox SKU's. Get over it, there are no more surprise exclusives while the PS3 is selling well. The Xbox golden age is gone. I hope you took some pictures because it will never happen again.

Even if it was a timed exclusive, which I seriously doubt, I dont think PS3 owners would be crying considering the titles that will come in 2008. From a personal opinion, i believe it dismisses the 360 line up next year but that's just me and why I dont own a 360 anymore. No 2008 titles interested me. Whereas for the PS3...wow. I really hope Final Fantasy 13 is released sometime in the 3rd quarter, 2008 could be the best gaming year for us PS3 owners. GTA4, KillZone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Getaway, 8 Days, White Knight Story, Final Fantasy 13, God of War 3
Gran Turismo 5, Motorstorm 2, Tekken 6, SOCOM 4, Resistance 2 and HOME (Brilliant potential, streaming movies over the net with your friends in your virtual apartment.

The major franchises released in a window of a year. Expect N4G.com to be flooded with PS3 articles. And expect some of you buying PS3's next year. And so, Rainbow what? We're well set for games. I just wish now we were given free money to buy these games!

This rumour is obviously designed to negate the software list on the PS3, to antagonise PS3 owners regarding their purchase because there is the impression that the 360 will get everything whilst the PS3 will only lose titles and have nothing left to make it a purchase.

My list refutes that, and the possible negative wave that would come if R6Vegas were to be confirmed as a 360 exclusive. In other words, I wouldn't give a monkeys and I think most agree with me on that. If it was in 2007 when we had a saturated software market, I'd be planning a revolution to overthrow Sony but luckily they have me more than happy for 2008.

Their developers now know how to program the Ps3 properly - although they got off to a slow start.

But now everything is sweet....no whinging from Ubi about any development woes.

Well, considering PS3 2008 SMASHES 360 2008 we shouldn't need this, but let's go over the rules:

"Ninja Gaiden2, Alanwake, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, SplinterCell: Conviction, Banjo Kazooie, Fable2, Thesis, Kingdom under fire, Gears of War 3"

Firstly, only exclusive titles need be listed, so Splinter Cell, Alan Wake, Fable 2, Thesis and Kingdom Under Fire are gone. Next, we need Gears 2 before Gears 3, and even Gears 2 will be coming to PC/MAC, so it's not exclusive.
Banjo and Too Human are like Duke Nukem Forever, we'll wait until we see something at all until we can say they're games.

That leaves NG2 (MAAAAYBE) and Lost Odyssey, which will flop and be terrible just like Blue Dragon.

Wow, what a stunning lineup 360, unless of course some of your games are canceled like Wardevil was (now PS3 exclusive), or Marvel MMO.

personally the first one was ugly for PC and 360 and was way too slow,, given that it was a tactical shooter and all but good lord, it was just too slow... i'll pass thank you... i'll take resistance 2 over that hunk of trash any day. besides KZ2 will be out by then it'll be awesome
