Ghostbusters Sequel Coming in Video Game Form, Original Cast and Writers Heavily Involved

The long-fabled third entry in the Ghostbusters franchise will be arriving in the form of a video game for PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

The title is being written by Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, and Bill Murray. All three starred in the first two films, which were written by Ramis and Aykroyd. The trio will also lend their voices to the game, which is currently being developed by an unknown studio.

The project was unveiled by Game Informer's teasings of its next issue. More details are expected soon.

YOUR RIGHT.... What was i thinking, although feasibly i think bill murrey maybe the only original cast member that would fit back in the boiler suit.

Ghostbusters 3 should have come out 1993, may have averted the whole of the 90`s being complete and utter garbage...... May have even changed the world ;).

Bill Murray has said he would not do another Ghostbusters movie. Dan Ackroid tried to set one up a few years ago and that's what held it up. Couldn't replace him either (as if they would) since each of them own the rights to their characters.

Is this the same game that was shown by an independent studio for the 360 last year? It looked pretty cool with the proton packs showing the streams blowing things up.

Apparently not.

Zootfly (the company that made that footage) has said they are not allowed to legally work on any Ghostbusters material for commerical release and are instead focusing their efforts on TimeO.

Sounds good and all but I can't help asking why Sony Pictures/Columbia would let a great exclusive licence go to Universal to design the game and publish it on the Xbox 360? Surely any company with a bit of a brain would keep it in house as developed by one of SCE's 1st party devs and publish it exclusive on a Sony platform. Also could never understand why they sent the Spiderman movie licence go to Activision and go multi platform.

More than anything, wheres Ernie Hudson, that guy rocks! And Sigourney better be in it too, not a likeness with a voice actor, the actual real recorded by her voice and motion captured appearance.

Apart from those gripes, good news.

I was born in 86, bt loved it when I was pretty young,going through life knowing that we should never cross the streams and marshmallows are really bad for you. i can wait,hope it rocks. It should sell ok,depending on the angle they take,please nt 80s..it'll nevr sell then. Oh,and,as long as its nt gonna compete with GOW 3 lol
