I love racing games, I'll have to download it before I even think about dropping cash on this. The last two NFS titles were bogus.

nfs is pants, and anyone that disagrees is either a fool, or has neon lights on their car with a fake roll cage and a big bore exhaust, its probably a vauxhall nova too.

Don't listen to si-fly make up your own mind, I actually was really impressed, this game takes alot of stuff from other games so far this gen. They look the driving line from Forza, and they look the slow motion crashing (albeit not nearly as detailed) from Motorstorm. The graphics are good, the driving is good, what most impressed was the sense of speed, you really do feel like you're driving fast. The first thing you can do is a speed test it's basically almost a straight shot down a two lane road with 3 shots of Nos and you have to basically be the fastest through the checkpoints and beat the other cars which doesn't sound hard til the idiots won't get out of your way and you keep flying off the road til you crash up. Second race is a track race where you can utilize the Forza driving line, I only tried casual so no idea if it's available in the harder difficulties. I thought it was fun, and it's a nice change of pace for racing games and for NFS, you should definitely atleast try it. Oh and the smoke at the start when your burning out while waiting for the start is really cool it almost fills the whole screen and it's all thick and looks realistic!

Come one try it out yourself if you have broadband. Evry1 has their own opinion. I'm gonna d/l it and see for myself. Although pretty much engrossed in PGR4 ATm.

That was awful, best part of the game for me was when I hit delete demo.

Ok here's my quick review, I tried, I tried to like the game, but maybe I just couldn't because I've played games like Need for Speed -Hot Pursuit and that was an amazing game on PS2. Not Xbox - (the xbox version was awful)

Anyway this game tries to be a drag strip racing game and one that end maybe it is... The problem is when has that ever been fun.

The controls try to create what it might be like to be going 151mph and then trying to turn to sharp. Which would cause you almost lose control.
-The problem, when was the last time you where going 151mph and turned just a little and felt like you where going to crash. (yeah never) one because hopefully you don't drive that fast and two because that's just not realistic. Your car would never feel that loose.

So on that account the game fails, and because of that you take what could have been a crazy nice racing game and you make it just a headache to play. (and who wants that when playing a game)

Too bad too because the graphics are sweet, cars really look nice. Smoke is done really well maybe too Smokey but still looks amazingly next gen. This game at high speeds make you say ok maybe it's not that bad but soon as you take the turn and feel no skidding sound, or not enough you realize not enough work went into game play.

The feel of the game sucks -so who cares if it looks amazing. It plays like crap for a racer.

But hey that's just my Two cents. Go ahead and download and see for your self. I won't even be rent this, this one is completely of my game list.

Game is smooth enough but looks like it came at the cost of the resolution and rather lackluster AA. Not keen on object pop up which seems fairly bad when going very fast (signposts, certain barriers etc etc). Smoke looks great however! Im sorry but as someone pointed out earlier, PGR4 just rules the roost at the moment!!!!!

Bear in mind this is coming from a fan of the NFS franchise. They've done a few new (subtle) things that I like with their flagship racer. I like the announcer a lot, he seems very lively n' has something new to say at the start and course of every race. Secondly the damage modeling is pretty well done, it's no Burnout or Flatout, but it's done a lot better than I had previously thought n' seen from the video's. The handling is on point as usual and the sense of speed is great as well.

My only quip is that they've (EA) not done anything jaw-dropping or genre defining this generation. And if anyone has the experience in doing so (NFS 3: Hot Pursuit anyone?), it's EA. This is their...10th or so NFS game and pretty much the same old game overall. They need to revamp the series, in a large and significant way. I don't care if it takes 2-3 years to develop. Just give us something to remember.
