Well though I don't like PGR series I have to say that the floor looks better indefinitely . Lots more detail. The question is can they make it better again?

Was PGR3 an Xbox 360 game? (I don't care for racing games myself) But from the screen shots it would appear that the PGR4 game is much more detailed. Even the car seems to have more details and self shadows on it.

1.5 - Yes.. PGR3 was a 360 title.

The thing to keep in mind though is that it was a release title. As such it can be assumed that it was was rushed to make the launch. That being the case they wouldn't have had time to refine their engine.
PGR4 is a lot of fun but I can't help thinking that the driving engine has changed. Perhaps to improve the car handling but when I watch my car in replays it seems to do weird things every once in a while.

I've seen you spew this nonsense before, did you make all that up by yourself?
It doesn't matter if the disc is a hd format. A game is not read directly from the disc, the data is. The console has to render that data in hd or sd. The disc format has nothing to do with the end resolution of the game.
Go back to your lab and go work on your theories, you sound like a mad scientist.
Also, I don't understand why you have to start a GT rant, in a PGR3/PGR4 comparison, save it for the PGR4/GT comparison.

Cars have more effects in PGR4, the lighting is next-gen in PGR4 and the detail in PGr4 is far more advanced. These pics do not come close in sheding light on the diferences. One thing is for sure that you can see in these pics the detail is better in PGR4 the roads in PGR3 are pethetic in comparison.

Having both games and seeing them on a large HDTV you can see that ther is as much diferences in the over all detail in the environments as ther is in the roads in these pics.

PGR4 is much more lifelike. And is much more detailed. It is especially noticable if you look at the street detail.

Lighting and textures were improved for PGR4 the ferrari has a small variation on the head lights, almost as if they re used the geometry.

I just broke my *%$#%steering wheel, well not literally, but now the car steers to the right automatically, must be some faulty wiring, damnit! I was having a kick-@ss time with it. I'll attempt to repair it by hitting it, if that doesn't work, I'm forced to buy a new one. And no it's not the MS one, it's a joytech that I bought 1.5 years ago.

Your steering wheel is not broken. That is a feature. It is trying to increase the realism by simulating wheels that are out of alignment. You didn't happen to hit a deep pothole in Forza 2, did you?

PGR is an awesome game. I loved the 3rd edition, it was my first 360 game. I bought it on launch. My favourite was the Ford GT and the Atom Supercar.

The only thing that sucked about it is when you raced good players, if dont time one corner time perfect, you're race is as good as over. But that's just cos I wasn't that good lol

I wish they had used an actual flatscreen HDTV!! Using a CRT (HD or not) for these kinds of comparisons is retarded. When I played PGR3 it had all kinds of rediculous jaggies everywhere, due to the total lack of AA. From the HD gameplay footage I've seen of PGR4, most of these seem to been eliminated.

But I can't see those differences in this comparo. Anybody got the two games and can make a quick in-game comparo? I think it will highlight the differences much better. What can be seen from this though is the vast improvement on road detail and the subtle improvement on the cars (reflections, shadowing).

Man these pics dont do it justice. Just played teh demo again and the rain effects are so realistic, i was feeling happy about driving in rain cuz here in the desert we hardly get any rain in a year. Also as Ahmedinajad said the replay looks amazing and on my 50" its like watching a freaking actual race. Will definately buy it once it lands here in dubai.
