For once I have to disagree with you.

The physics in this game (and this doens't even qualify as a good example of a complex physics engine) doesn't have any impact on the gameplay at all.

Take a game like half-life 2 and bioshock to name just two, and the physics actually impact the gameplay.

You don't need havoc to do what halo 3 does, which is mostly just for ragdoll after a death and explosions.

The fact that halo 3 plays EXACTLY like halo 1 and 2 proves this. Physics are just for show in this game.

And seriously....if the physics are so good then how the hell can I literally fly across the map when someone melees me when I melee them at the exact same time? FLY ACROSS THE MAP. Seriously...thats just retarded.

Well obviously the physics does affect game play, as without it, that guy would have never had been hit by the grenade...

And in any event Halo never really had life-like physics. Hell you can almost just 2 your height, and just pressing a button flips a tank over.
Anyways different isn't always bad so...

When you get hit with a melee and fly across the map, it's because the guy you were shooting had put more rounds into you than you put into him, therefore you lost the fight.

You flew across the map because you got hit by a cyborg. Every schoolboy knows cyborgs can flip tanks with one hand.

Edit: nevermind...I saw the last pic in the warthog...thats the lighting you were talking about...apologies...

but I have to ask...where is the "lighting" you are talking about?...thats a bright color...not lighting...look at the ground, its just green as always, with no ambience from the extremely bright red laser just two feet from it...

I am not saying the game doesn't have good lighting...the HDR is some areas is really good...just pointing out that the pic you attatched doesn't show off anything...

I didn't realize grenades could burst into a ball of burning plasma and stick to nasty looking aliens either. It's a game.

Konrad just because the physics aren't based on the newtonian laws we know and are use to doesn't mean there isn't physics engine in the game.

Yes, the record feature is one of the main things that draws some jealousy out of me. Halo 3 looks like a quality game, and that record feature is awesome. The advertising all those awesome videos will give the game makes the feature more than worth the effort.

As far as the thrower is concerned it just landed directly on the guy he threw it at and never made it to the vent.

The reason those fans lift a human is because of surface area. A grenade has such a large weight to surface area ratio that it wouldn't happen.

First of all, I'm not the one that initially brought up the fact that an indoor skydiving machine could do this. I never said plasma grenade in particular and neither did any of these other people claiming this is possible in real life. It got a bunch of disagrees and I think that is hilarious. Why don't all of you people who disagreed go to your local indoor skydiving center and give it a try for yourself and then come back and insist that it's still possible so you don't look like a complete jack*ss. By the way, take the 'e' out of critiquing so you'll sound more professional when you're trying to call someone out.
