Quartermann: Viva Pinata to Wii, No BioShock PS3?

The latest issue of EGM contains some tasty Quartermann rumors. With Viva Pinata already heading to the Nintendo DS and the continued success of mini-game compilations on Wii, doesn't it make sense Viva Pinata: Party Animals should show up on Wii? Q seems to think so, but it doesn't seem like it'll be hitting day-an-date this Fall.

Also, those rumors of BioShock coming to the PlayStation 3? Scrap 'em; apparently, the incredible success of 2K Games' new IP on Xbox 360 (and PC) means Microsoft has snatched the rights to keep Rapture on their hardware. The additional content originally planned for the better-late-than-never PS3 version may show up in a Game of the Year edition or downloadable content on Xbox Live.

Best leave the Ps3 to programmers who know what they are doing. Bioshock was incredibly over rated and seems every reviewerer seemed to leave out the huge stuttering issue later in the game..

Sheesh I bought a 360 for that game and I cant even finish it. RETURNED!

Wow you must really just suck at life and games. I've been playing it for the last couple days haven't noticed any stuttering at all plays great. DO us all a favor and stop making stuff up. You know you never owned a 360 or the game. for starters you can't return video games once their opened so i hope you like having a copy of bioshock.

I didnt know blue dragon might be going too wii...thats a new one...The problem with timed exclusives are they usually show up 6-9 months later..when there are better games....look at oblivion for ps3... it wasnt that immpressive since it has been on the xbox 360 for awhile.

When has EGM rumours been correct? Didn't they say MGS4 for 360? Also it seems like any games that are rumoured to go from PS3 to 360 are reported and anything that is bad for the PS3's image. Gamespot said they definitely expect Bioshock to go to PS3 after a while, they would make a few thousand sales extra.

The stuttering you are referring to is easly fixed by clearing the cache. I never had the problem but anyone that did cleared cached and problem solved. It has less if any to do with programming expertise.

If you really owned a 360 you would know about this fix and how it takes 2 seconds and it's all good.. Nice try!

3 - Blue Dragon and Viva might show up on Nintendo products....

I doubt it will happen. But I think it would be a very smart move by Microsoft. The Wii and the DS doesn't compete with the xbox 360's target audience. But, by releasing those games on kid friendly consoles.....When those kids want the best version of their new found favorite DS game....They will eventually want/get an xbox 360. Think about it.

P.S. I still doubt it will happen. But it would expand the xbox 360's potential consumer market.

As far as Bio Shock going to the Ps3....I have no clue about this one. It was a fantastic gaming experience. And any Sony Only fan should be very pleased to get an AAA title of that caliber for their console of choice. Me personally....I don't like waiting over 6 months for a Great Title.

9 - Microsoft *openly* paid for Bioshock to be localized to Japan...

...in addition to whatever investments and deals they made on the side. Since Take2 has been short of cash anyway there never was much of a doubt it would stay only on 360.
BTW, the localization effort included Mass Effect, too.

Also, are you seriously implying that the previously posted picture of a scaled-down, edgy, low-texture Viva Pinata was actually an image from your much-lauded Xbox360's graphics processor? Look at that image again and tell me if you believe that someone uploaded a 360 image and called it DS.

I highly doubt Microsoft would buy Nintendo. I do believe they're both making a pretty penny as it is, so for one to buy the other would probably be the downfall of both- the buyer would have to pay a very high price and the seller would be absorbed into the parent company. Good for the industry? I think not. Also, since when has an American company been able to infiltrate the Japanese economy at all? Think car companies- we see Toyota and Honda but there are definitely no GM's over there. The customs are terrible.

The reason I think VP is going to the DS but won't come to the Wii is because MS isn't competing in the handheld market. It makes sense to bring a casual-friendly game to the successful DS in order to gain some acceptance in Japan without having to hurt 360 sales.

Viva Pinata Party Animals is one of Microsoft's Secret Weapons to beat the Wii... I don't think Q knows what he is talking about. Analyists these days are getting worse and worse with their predictions. As much as Microsoft says the Wii is not its competition... you know it does have some sway which is why Microsoft is trying so hard to win over the casual gamers too. I for one can't wait to get the Scene it game with the 4 remotes and even give Party Animal a try.

Viva Pinata would be GREAT on the Wii...it would allow more people to appreciate how good the game actually is. Perfect game for the system's target demographic, and the motion controls would put a good spin on the game's play.

As for BioShock...Just a hunch...but I think that MS will push HARD to keep this a 360 exclusive.

They *own* Viva Pinata lock, stock, and pinatas; RARE created it and then they licensed it to Four Kids. Sorta like the Sonic animated shows? Its a Microsoft IP as much as Halo and Kameo.

How about you focus on your primary platform since you are owned by MS!

Viva was decent, Kameo was decent, PDZ was decent but basically for being a first party you are doing mostly garbage... So much potential that seems to be wasted and now you are working on DS and Wii products(if true). I see where your priorites are.. Money first, making a decent game second, making a great game dead last!

You don't see Nintendo rushing to put Mario or any of their first party stuff on 360 same with Sony.. Why is MS's the console whores of the industry.?

I don't mind it as much as I'd like to see some first party love from Nintendo on the 360.. Mario or Donkey Kong would be sweet and great for the XBLA.

Viva Piniata for the Wii? Not likely.

Why for the DS? Because the DS isn't of any threat for the 360. It's even good for the 360. Kids playing Viva Piniata on their DS will want to play Viva Piniata on their TV's @ Home... And their parents might buy a 360 for Christmas with Viva Piniata. Wise step from MS.

Viva Piniata on the Wii? Don't think so. Would cut their game target audience kids/girls from Rare, 1st party MS dev from the 360.

Bioshock 360 exclusive? Better believe it. MS will not let this main franchise go anywere. Another AAA game on the 360, while the PS3 only has Oblivion, not even an exclusive as AAA.

Sad huh PS3 owners to have no AAA other then Oblivion, and certainly no exclusive

Wrong. All the games you mentioned scored below 90% average on all reviews together. Too bad. Those are not AAA rated. Only Oblivion is. Motorstorm ended somewhere just over an 8, Warhawk also, Resistance got close with 88% average or so. But only Oblivion on PS3 got over 9 out of 10.

Too bad, no AAA exclusives on the PS3, you can stay in denial as long as you want...
