1.1 - Hmmm...
...just to warn people, when I clicked on the link my toolbar (Crawler) warned me that the site was dangerous and was trying to download something to my PC. Bit odd. Better to share than not.

True DrPepper but it might only be the pre-alpha build.
Rainy Woods is a bit of a weird name too. I'm going to keep an eye on this though. I like survival horror and this is the first I've heard of this one.

Yeah rainy woods is a weird name. But I guess it makes sense if the game is going to take place in the woods and have miserable weather.

Even still the name sounds like that a young child would make up. Imagine this happened with something else, like jurassic park it would be called "Big Dinosaurus Gets Mad"
Aww I really hope I bunch of replies with weird names for stuff after this.

Yeah, it does sound kind of childish. It doesn't really have the effect of "woah, that sounds awesome". Instead, it's sort of like "ok...?"

Alan Wake is the name of the main character, so I doubt it. Besides, this game looks very different from Alan Wake (judging from screenshots)

Even though we don't know too much on gameplay for both (or if they will even be comparable), I can say Alan Wake is beating it in the graphics department as of now (about 100 times over). They seem to be going for the same sort of horror experience, but not the same visual one (of course, they have a ways to go on both)...
Oh and I doubt it will be the rainiest and woodsiest survival horror game. Alan Wake's setting is the Pacific Northwest. Nuff said.

15 - OFF topic... Here's all known Info on Alan Wake...
http://www.alanwake.com/scr...
http://www.alanwake.com/scr...
"Intense cinematic action is something that we love to do, and Alan Wake features tense combat gameplay as well, but all things considered the game has a lot more emphasis on adventure and exploration than what Max Payne did. Driving is an integral part of the game"
"The dark-forces (enemies) coming to 'take care of' Alan Wake are vulnerable to light. So the most useful weapon of all is actually the flashlight. You will be able to place booby traps which will illuminate when executed, etc. Light will weaken or hurt Wake's enemies, and creatively taking advantage of any and all light sources within Alan Wake's grim world ought to be one of the interesting aspects of play"
"The name "Bright Falls" has a meaning. The game promises to have photo-realistic graphic qualities, realistic pixel shading, and dynamic shadows that change according to the position of the sun. To avoid lags and hangs, the game will benefit from a high end PC and the Xbox 360"
" Alan Wake was demonstrated at the Intel Developer Forum in September 2006, running on an Intel Core 2 Quad processor clocked at 3.73GHz. The demonstration took the form of a tech demo, showcasing engine features such as day/night cycle, volumetric light, weather and physics. It was revealed that the game engine is multi-threaded and able to make full use of all four cores, with separate threads for physics, graphics & sound processing and seamless streaming of world data. It is therefore likely that the Xbox 360 version will also require the Xenon CPU's three cores which have a total of six threads.
It was also claimed that the game is unlikely to run on single-core systems, but hyper-threading enabled Pentium 4 CPUs may be able to run it with significantly reduced detail".
"Remedy Entertainment also promised a free-roam 3-dimensional city, similarly as in the Grand Theft Auto series", It's Just another AAA an Adanced one at that.

I remember seeing a trailer for a game that must have been about 2 years ago anyway at the time this game was called Call of the Chutulu
I'm not sure on the spelling. Anyway did that become Alan Wake or am I thinking of something different completely.

Call of Cthulu: Dark corners of the world (or something), is a different game that was released on the original Xbox. A fps horror adventure that had aweome graphics for it's time and was overlooked by many. Great game with superb atmosphere and hard riddles to solve.

16 - If it gets a 6, or higher, I'll play it.
Has there even been a survival horror game out for the next gen systems besides the re-release of RE4, and the horrible Escape From Bug Island?(both WII only) I don't think so, and if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. I enjoy survival horror games very much. I love horror films, but I am rarely scared by them at all. I feel more immersed in a survival horror game, because you are the character, and I love the feeling of not knowing what you will have to face next. My favorite series is Silent Hill, not Resident Evil but I enjoy RE very much. I hope that this game turns out decent, and supplies a few creepy moments. I'm not expecting a whole lot, but I hope that it suprises me.
