3 Dreamcast classics coming to XBLA

MS has announced that 3 Classic Dreamcast games will be making there way to XBLA, Rez, Ikaruga and Triggerheart Exelica.

The 360 is the spiritual successor to the Dreamcast. Got a huge head start, with Peter Moore at the helm and the controllers bear some striking similarities. Clearly all of gaming has been influenced by the Dreamcast to a point that not many people realize. I salute MS's decision to bring DC games to the Arcade and I can only hope the trend continues in the form of:

Jet Set (grind) Radio
Space Channel 5
Chu Chu Rocket
Toy Commander
Virtua Tennis
etc...

I give you props for bringing up Toy Commander. That was truly a classic. I have it on my PC under emulation.

I am so glad to see Ikaruga being rereleased it truly is one of the best shooters ever. I would place it at number 2(with Radiant Silvergun being number 1 of course.) For anyone who has never played the original Radiant Silvergun it has been added to Mame and runs at a decent framerate. If not it is available for import on Sega Saturn.

XBOX Live really is bringing a lot of great IP to the table. My props to Microsoft for making Live an even better experience.

I still have my original copy I purchased right after release. You gotta really get into the game to appreciate it. The controls are pretty complex for a realtively simple concept and I think that threw alot of people off. Oh well, it's still a must-own in my book. I just recently bought my 2nd Dreamcast, just for back-up purposes, so I can rest assured I'll be playing Toy Commander, and all the others, well into the PS5/Xbox 1080 years.

Great news. I loved the dreamcast and was sad to see it go. I hope more dreamcast classics can make it. Its not really the typical game you'd see on xbla, but being able to replay Shenmue on the 360 would be awesome.
