TimeShift demo on XBL Marketplace

Vivendi Games has placed the Timeshift demo on XBL Marketplace. It weighs 582 MB and will give you the possibility to test the game before its release.

TimeShift is available from 28 September 2007 on 360 and PC.

2.3 - IMO the DEMO was good

It took me a little time to download it since I got my first RROD as I was about to click Download. My screen kind of pixilated and then froze. I rebooted and RROD! I turned my 360 off, sprayed some can air to clear any dust I can get at, turned it on and it's working. I still will return it back to Costco where I get a Lifetime warranty before HALO 3 comes out.

Back to TimeShift, It's not HALO 3 but the whole time stopping is cool and looks good. I will have to play it more to figure out how to work it all but so far it's not bad. It's worth a FREE download at least.

is this the only reasion you turn on your 360 to download demos,well their is lots of them and multiplayer demos also plus lots more to come. do you have a ps3 well i did untill last saturday untill i sold it to buy the new ellite 360,i was so so disapointed with the quality of games and the lack of..not evan any multi player demos on psn net work and talking to your freinds is sooo dificult.bioshock rocks thats worth turning on your 360 for lol. Only an idiot would sell a PS3 to buy a 360 Red Circle Box. I have both but my 360 is out for repairs. It would of been smarter to just buy a use 360 and have both systems. What an idiot. Know you are going to miss out on all the Exclusive PS3 games.

I've been really impressed with the steady flow of updates and demos for the 360. I'm glad I got one when I did instead of waiting for PS3 to finally pour in the demos (even though I'm really happy with playing Warhawk now),...the sad thing, waiting for work to finish :(.

I agree to the fullest if you(we) pay attention the ones that own both consoles or claims to be open minded are worse than the PS3 only fanboys. Don't get me wrong Hardcore gamers(play lots of games and usually own more than one console) can still be fanboys. I was just commenting on you saying go buy a PS3 when that guy has been known to be a Sony fanatic.

this game is awesome. the graphics are great. great rain effect especially in time STOP mode. I also see the have a knock off gun to the torqe bow from gears. for me right now all depending on how halo 3 plays this might get more playing time from me!!

Wow, this demo was way better than I expected. The first minutes I thought this is crap, but damn, the weapons look really cool, graphics are great overall, with nice effects and explosions, but there are some framerate issues in the demo.
The time-control is actually really cool and I'm curious to see how this game turns out.

Does this game use the unreal engine? it looks like it does, Im kinda getting over the unreal engine, sick of games looking the same with this engine, apart from bioshock and gears I find that any game useing the unreal engine has the same grey grunge look to them.

I'm loving Bioshock also. I'm getting more than 15 hours of gameplay. I mean, I don't sit for 8 hours at a time playing games. I play 2-3 hours here and there and it's lasted me over a week and I still have 2 more areas to go to.

Bioshock is freakin' sweet. It's got great ending(s) too. The Timeshift demo is pretty cool, but Halo 3 will definately be the FPS of 2007 - can't wait to do 4 player co-op ! Yeah, they have been dropping alot of Demos lately.... Haven't had time for most of 'em. Check out the skate Demo too, it rocks.

I found the demo enjoyable. I haven't tried the early build, by the sound of it that's a good thing.
The graphics are good, nice framerate, time effects are graphically impressive.
I found it overwhelming to begin with, I died about 5 times on the first courtyard, and every death required a slightly tedious loading wait.
You can take very little damage before dying, which means if you don't use time power, you will probably die.
The starting weapon is AWFUL. I stopped time and walked up to the first guy, shot him point blank in his unarmoured head, and went on, when time restarted he shot me in the back. He wasn't dead. That's how bad the first gun is.
But once I got the hang of it, the game was quite fun. The time effects ar excellent. The other weapons I picked up were nice and powerful, and it had the odd puzzle to solve with time power, nothing too difficult though.
I would reccommend the game based on the demo, just for the time effects, and the battles, but it's probably not going to be a "must have" title.

29 - "Time" someone wrote a decent review of the demo:

Graphics: Very detailed and functional however not ground breaking. Not quite as good as bioshock but still great probably in line with Call of Duty 3.

Gameplay: Here is where the game comes into its own - great time shifting powers really add to what is a good core shooter. You can puase time run up to an enemy and steal his weapon. Un pause time and he surrenders to you! Rewind if something bad happens and put it into slow mo to go deal with groups of enemies. The mechanics for health are like call of duty/ halo 2 rest and recover etc. However I did feel the game looked rather linear following a very scripted path with a few puzzles along the way but still very fun.

A.I., Physicis + Misc: The AI was good if not a little simplistic but I have no idea how they would react to a time travelling super human so I think they did ok. They will beat you if you don't go into slow mo so I guess thats acceptable. If you steal their weapon they will surrender of try to find another one, they dive for cover when there is a grenade but normally blow up. But other than that a bit unremarkable. The game has pretty good physics with ragdolls, puzzles involving movement & the grenades bounce etc.

Story: A lot like a terminator style thing where you are sent back in time in the middle of a war taking place in a city. Its very atmospheric and really brings you a bit more into the game.

I don't think this is especially ground breaking but it is a hell of a lot of fun. Definately give it a go: probably of the same quality as something liek Prey, a 8/10 because of just how much fun tiem altering it is!
