you cant get a more ps3 biased source than an official magazine, from the horses mouth Heavenly Sword and Lair disappoint, things are looking bad for PS3 owners in 2007 two "AAA Killer app" titles that Sony was relying on turned out to be duds.

Ratchet and Clank and Warhawk will be the only games worth purchasing this year

I for one am happy to see Stranglehold get a good score I was afraid that it might not be good and I would have to pass on getting Hardboiled. So this is good news. I for one was thinking it might be lower but am happy to see it is not.

I am still getting Heavenly Sword ( I just had too much fun w/demo)
I won't be gettin Lair (Too may bad reviews,and NO demo
Hs should hold me untill Ratchet, and Uncharted, and Assasins Creed drop.

I don't know why everyone is making a big deal about lair as if Sony put all there horses into one basket. I wanted the game to be good too, but Now only a Demo, or rental can convince me to purchase.

I played Heavenly Sword, I like it, despite what the reviewers say. So I know I will have fun with this title.

well I need to play a demo of Lair before I decide to buy or not. Warhawk could seriously hold me over until 2008... but I think i will rent HS and make up my own mind. Warhawk, Uncharted and Rachet for me i guess... back to warhawk now...

I can't remember what group it is but Sony has no influence on any of the scores, they also do xbox 360 magazines and PC ones, i'll pick up my copy tommoz and see what they have to say...

I'm still buying both heavenly Sword and LAIR, i like the motion control's and heavenly sword is my type of genre so it's all good, they can go along side Motorstorm and Resistane that both got good reviews...

Can you guys remind what game was sooooooo good, triple AAA good (don't give me Call of Duty) in the 360's first 9 months of it's birth? KING KONG MAYBE....

Here it is 8 months since the ps has been released and just the concepts of the games are more appealing in it's first year then what the 360 had to offer(face it Lair may not be a good game, but some thought was put into, not just another recycled FPS). Gears of wars, which I consider a AAA came a complete year after the 360 came out....

Titles like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Folklore, are still slated to come out this year. "things" still look good to me

Funny how the bashers of heavenly sword are so quick to talk when they see a score below 8 but when game informer, gamepro, egm, gamestats, and others gave their review of heavenly sword, the fools were nonexistant. Heavenly sword is an awesome edition to the ps3's needing library of good games no matter how much any sort of fanboy wants to twist it as it isn't.

The good scores outweigh the bad scores by a longshot, and 7 isn't even in the "bad score" range. people just want to "fanboy" for no damn reason. Zhuk, pog, mart, bladestar, dragunball, firstknight, etc. Just ignorant.

i'm sorry, it just seems like me and those in the UK just *AREN'T on the same page when it comes to what makes a game an 8/10-9/10 and what makes a game a 7/10.

i mean, they gave *SINGSTAR a *NINE/TEN!!

Warhawk, is universally fun. you'd have to not have a pulse to find that game fun.

Lair, has always struck me as a 7/10 game.

after playing the demo of Heavenly Sword, it's easily in the 8/10 range, at the *LEAST.

i absolutely *LOVE the action/adventure genre, whereas it seems that some of these folks just can't judge a game for what it *IS.

without reading their *REASONING for rating the game a 7/10, i can't, and won't look at the score at face value.

i mean, ign also gave the game a 7/10, despite it's score average as being a 7.8 (closer to an 8/10), but i didn't think the reviewers *REASONS matched up to a 7/10 score.

all this shows, like we've known all along, is that *NOBODY has the same tastes, and those that are basing their buying decisions off of someone else's opinion should be *ASHAMED of themselves.

i understand panning a game like Enter The Matrix, because it's fundamentally flawed in the gameplay area, but what i don't understand, is that, across the board, whether it be a 7/10, or an 9/10, *EVERY SINGLE REVIEWER, has stated these three things:

1.) The graphics are beautiful
2.) The voice-acting/direction/product ion values, are stunning
3.) The combat system(read: gameplay) is fun as hell, and well executed, if a bit repetitious.

well, um, isn't that the *POINT of a game? to have fun gameplay?

it seems to me that Heavenly Sword *NAILS the fundamentals, but isn't perfect in the way it handles everything.

the game is also short, but i don't expect a 40-100 hour experience from an action/adventure game. 10-15 hours is generous. i expect, at least, 9-10 hours of gameplay for Heavenly Sword.

but what matters to me is if i'm actually *ENJOYING MYSELF for *HOWEVER long i may be playing.

yes, games are $60 now, but look, when i was a boy, we paid $50 for a game that was, essentially, 30 *MINUTES (when you got good at a game like Contra, you could clear it in 20-30 minutes, tops), and you spoiled young people b*tch about a game that's 8 *HOURS or more. sheesh.

get some damn perspective, people.

anyway, before my tangent, i just want to say that i won't let the opinions of those that have drastically different tastes than i do dictate my buying decisions. if i'm interested in a game. i will buy it. end of story.

Not suprised, Lair sucks you can see it from the videos. Heavenly sword demo was underwhelming and £40 for a 5 hour long single player game doesnt go down well with me. Suprised with warhawk but its nice we get 1 good game this month.

with bashing on the length of heavenly sword? The devs have said it is around 10-12 hours. The xbot fanboys started bringing that down to eight, then seven or six, and now FIVE HOURS???? the DEVS have said 10 to 12 hours. I would imagine it would be longer on extreme difficulty. That is fine for me. I have children and a demanding job. I cant put the hours into games that I used to, so, a top quality story which is well told is a good thing for a change. I have only so far completed 2 ps3 games due to lack of time. Not everyone minds a shorter game once in a while
