Just like VGCHARTS NPD estimates sales data rather than tracking actual sales.

who knows MS might have paid NPD to release doctored figs.

NPD is not among the top 10 institutions dedicated to tracking sales data

However ps3 beats x360 in worldwide sales in JULY by 130 000 units

so ps3 is the winner in whatever way u look at it

DONT FORGET ps3 has beaten x360 in JULY in terms of worldwide sales by 130 000 units

in JAPAN ps3 went on to beat x360 by 67 000 units
in EU ps3 went on to beat x360 by 80 000 units.

in USA ps3 was beaten by 11000 units
in CANADA ps3 has beaten x360 by 2000 units

winner in JULY (based on combined GLOBAL sales)

ps3 by 130 000 units

6 - The analysts are a waste of space.

Why does somebody get paid to predict the future??? I could just as easily ask a fortuneteller.

It does suprise me though that 360 outsold the PS3 even with the PS3 having a $100 price cut. The 360 had no big games in July and the PS3 had Sigma I can only imagine what will happen when the 360 price cut starts having it's effect.

Not to mention Bioshock and all the other games coming in the next few months. Especially Halo 3.

11 - I am not fine with this current trend,

as don't need to live through another generation potentially dominated by Nintendo. I know Nintendo has said there will be more mature games for the Wii, but I certainly am getting concerned that developers will start spending resources on this systems. I just don't see game styles like Gears or Resistance coming to the Wii. I don't need my hobby being ruined by an onslaught of kid oriented games. I certainly don't want to start spending 1-2 grand a year updating my computer.

From dinner with an analyst at Duquesne Capital Mgmt in NYC (yes I know people). A lot of what these do is pure speculation and base their predictions on rumor. They are not as knowledgable about this industry as one may believe and I actually got the analyst to read N4G. If there is speculation, this is the place to find it. Like all of us on this site, they analyze the crap out of data. Although they get more credible sources than us, it turns out they know as much as we know. Pachter has been proven wrong on many occasions although I've agreed with him on many occasions. Who knows, he might he proven wrong again. Take an analyst prediction with a grain of salt. I work with these guys .. They subscribe to EGM!!! I couldn't believe it until I saw the issue with the Lair review on his desk. I told him to burn his copy and rely on either Gameinformer or go to IGN.com

He answered I'm a finance consultant not a game analysist. But this is not my point

Actually I dont believe that MS won this July. I bet that the numbers are fictional.
For some of my reasons I have to track the numbers. here in Europe and the USA from some different sources.

My point is that M.Pachter is a fukcing liar. I may repeat my words even at trial. According to my data PS3 outsold the 360 with the ratio approx. 25%-30% (in world sales)

You are kidding, right? You actually think NPD -- an independent agency that charges significant sums for their data gathering and analysis is actually putting out fake numbers? Damn, man, go to the bank, take out a loan, and buy a clue. NPD has been around a long time and they know what they are doing. A)MS wouldn't pay them to report false numbers and B)NPD wouldn't risk it as they would lose their entire client base due to massive distrust. If the wii-mote is copied and similar games developed for the Ps2 alone, then the Wii will be finished.
