Warning: Viruses in Xbox Live friend requests

Torquedorks reports :

"In a voice message from an old xbox friend of his, he describes the virus as "Able to remove friends off of your friends list, Delete items off of your Hard Drive and obtain confidential Xbox Live membership information.

Now he don't know if has any validation to it because he is strict on whom he add to his friends list in the first place…but for those who just want to get theirs that much more full…you may want to start hesitating."

I was playing Halo 3 Epsilon today while I was on crack, I then got a friend request, I said sure, why not, so I excepted it. Right then my system shut down and my hard drive was bricked. I then called M$ and they said to lay off the juice and I said no way, I will just post this story and enjoy my crack. So there you go.

This is only one dude with a statement and he might as well bee lying, I can say something true I experienced with my PS3 and that is that everytime I start a game or dvd in general, the screen goes black and makes an odd click sound before it starts. anyone knows what the problem is?

Any word if this affects Original Xbox users. Probably not, but I don't know for sure. I go on Xbox Live occasionally for nostalgia, and because my subscription won't expire until sometime in October, except now Bungie wants to make me pay more for the map pack or I can't play the gametypes in Halo 2 I already paid for, but that's a separate rant. I was just wondering if this will have the possibility to affect my Original Xbox or not. Maybe if it did, I could send it in to Microsoft and claim it Red-Ringed (even though it doesn't have a red ring) and they'll send me a new 360. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic. I'll just paint 3 red quadrants of a semi-circle on top of my ol' box, and say it's the Red Ring. I'm not sure if I bought it in the past 3 years though, and I'm not sure if the extended 360 warranty applies to the Original Xbox. But if it somehow did, damn would that be awesome. O, I'm waaaaaaaay off topic now, so I'll just shut up.

I normally dont get like this, but i hate windows so.....BOOYA! thats what MS gets. i generally keep to myself on live so i havent had this problem, but stil.....first windows gets infected with viruses, then the 360. thats GOTTA HURT!

So tell me how they would run it once you add them to your friend list... If this were true, wouldn't people hear about similar things with Yahoo, MSN, and AIM messenger? Basically same thing, adding people to a friend list. I never hear about people's computers infected from said programs.

Furthermore, your Friend List isn't on your Xbox, I believe it's on MS servers. Like anyone can send code through them. They may not code OS trouble-free, however their servers are secure.
