Blazing Angels 2 out on August 30, PS3 version delayed to October

Ubisoft today sent out a new release schedule for the upcoming 3 months. One of the games that is on the list for August is Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW II. The game is scheduled for release on August 30 for Xbox 360 and PC. The Playstation 3 misses the landing streak for August and will instead be released on October 4. The reason for the delay was not given.

Other big games which received a release date are Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for Xbox 360. Naruto will be on store shelves on October 18, exclusively on Xbox 360. Brothers in Arms: Double Time, the exclusive Brothers in Arms for the Wii, will also hit store shelves on October 18.

That's really pathic.There's not a single third party game that comes first to 360 and then to ps3 after months.Shouldnt we call them 360 ''timed exclusives''?
I dont know why Sony was so happy with UT3 and Haze being timed exclusives while all other games are 360 timed exclusives.Really pathetic.
I'm buying a ps3 in 2 months, but many games are looking better on 360 yet I know that with time devs will get around programming for the ps3.

3.1 - Honest?

Probably the SDK tools.
MS is a software company and they have a ton of experience with system level software tools. Their tools are simply the best in the industry.
Plus, the 360 software specs are stable.
Sony changes theirs monthly. (More or less.)
An unstable platform makes it a lot harder to get the final product onto the box.
Now, if you're a PS3 fan you just shrug this off.
Its only Blazing Angels and you have Lair, right?
No biggie.

3.2 - Gee, I wonder why GTAIV was delayed?

It was funny to see the argument that they couldn't fit it on a single DVD9. All I have to say is that the difficulty in programming for the PS3 is unprecedented. I don't remember the PS2 having major delays. Games run smoother, look better, and arrive on time for the 360.

Maybe some developers are seeing that sales for the ps3 are starting to pick up and maybe they want to wait a little bit longer, while at the same time taking advantage of the ps3, making sure the qaulity is good. This does make since, especially for a game like this which really relies on a high install base to sell. I think the same goes for Moh and strangle hold. Let the install bass pick up, so you can maybe fix bugs, take advantage of the six axis, or maybe even add more content like GRAW2.

UPDATE: I would be a little dissapointed because of MOH being delayed but I have a 360 and I will get it on that. Plus it comes out in November on the ps3 and there will be plenty of other shooters that I will play(UT,Haze).

None of these delays are Multiplatform system sellers. So poeple will just buy them when they are released. Now lets say if something like Madden got delayed on one system then that would probably be trouble. But Stranglehold and Blazing Angels won't move systems. And PS3 Stranglehold comes with the movie so no problem in waiting for the better version.

It takes more time and money to develop properly for the PS3. That means developers are less likely to put their best effort into doing it. Even the PS3 exclusives keep getting pushed back. I'm beginning to think that Sony calls the PS3 a "10 year console" because that's how long it's going to take for developers to get their heads around it.

PS3 delays. You guys are the only ones that go on about it. It don't bother us we have alot of other great things to play in the mean time. The current PS3 library and our PS1 and PS2 collection. And delays and cost of developement is the same thing that the PS2 went through and with over 118 million PS2's sold WE have nothing to worry about.

After getting the "privilege" of playing the first Blazing Angels they can delay all versions indefinitely for all i care. Try to find Secret Weapons over Normandy for the PS2 and Xbox if you want a better WW2 flight sim.

Ok..first off...

"September all the heavy hitters like Lair, Heavenly Sword, etc. arrive"....I know Lair & Heavenly Sword...and assuming they both come in Sept. what are the 'etc.' games you speaking of? Also, Lair so far is a mixed bag so I wouldn't be claiming it as a heavy hitter just yet. HS...sure it has the hype and no bad previews/reviews on it. But Lair....not so sure that is going to be the heavy hitter you think it is.

Lastly...."with EXCLUSIVE content(like other ubisoft games such as R6V, DA, GRAW2, Oblivion, etc.)." Those games got ZERO exclusive content. All that content they got was already available to the 360 games... Now they did get content "included" that the original 360 versions had to wait for as it was developed later...but any content for those games you listed had already come out to the 360 versions via market place. The PS3 versions got "extra" content because they were in most instances getting games from Ubisoft that had been out for almost a full year before coming to the PS3. So don't think because Blazing Angels is being delayed by a month that you are somehow being rewarded with more content. One month=additional tweaks are being needed as there are issues with the game.

Honestly...I at first shrugged it off to new hardware months ago...but it really is a bit of a trend..and its a bad one for Sony. Even their own inhouse studios are pushing titles back and delaying...(Lair).

And really, I do understand that it does happen...it is normal for titles to slip out a bit...but man....it seems like EVERY 3rd party title for Sony is doing so...and even their 1st party stuff is on occassion.

You know this is going to continue to get hammered on by the media and the forums....so it will be interesting to see how Sony responds.

And more and more... GTA IV was rumoured first to come 'weeks' after the 360 version. All running stuff was on 360 hardware, demo's etc. Suddenly GTA IV was put in 2008.
