Preview: Rage for PC & Rage: Anarchy for PS3/360?

The fact id owns 'Rage' and 'Rage: Anarchy' trademarks means that the consoles versions will be different. Tim Willits is here on everything there is to know. He says they registered both because they couldn't be sure they'd get the former. "It might have ended up 'id Software's Rage: Anarchy'." It's just one game. That's sort of the point of id Tech 5, isn't it?

I hope they make both versions as identical as possible. Those tech5 demos and walkthrough really stole my heart and the only chance to play a game like that for me is the PS3/360 versions since my PC is prehistoric.

Doom 3 xbox looked quite different that doom 3 pc.
Lighting texture and level design were not the same.

On topic - The ps3 is going to have the advantage with this game when it comes to space. I guess that space issue is really happening with the 360... MS should go blu ray...

5 - How about just using HD DVD

All it takes is a firmware update and the 360 plays games using the HD DVD drive. That is assuming that start putting larger games on the HD DVD medium.

they said the ps3 version is usually lagging because of memory issues, the memory that THAT MATTERS (ram not disk capacity), due to the limitations of it's locked 256 mb of ram. so what are you TALKING ABOUT? i have no doubt that thy will be released simutanously though they are handling this way better than other, ie every delayed ps3 game

I don't understand what all the fuzz is about with those tech5 demos.

It's only about pretty textures, but everything is still flat. He talks about how they can put in tire makrks, and pile news papers on top of each other and have a whole lot of stuff going on i the textures.

I think that this is the wrong direction, it should be about making everything real and interactive, not pretty non-interactive textures.

I can see it's benefits though, but it's far from what ppl are hyping it up to be.

But, what about, animation, lighting, interactive environments, etc.... all I've seen from the engine is the ability to use awesome textures.

10.1 - basicly it will be one of the most innovatove and easy engines available

Allowing to develop for both ps3 and xbox 360 without any hassle. Without having to worry too much about graphic limits. Might be a Unreal engine killer.
