Why Gears isn't cross-platform

Microsoft's announcement on Gears of War on PC at this year's E3 didn't exactly knock us flat in shock, but it was a little surprising to learn that cross-platform support between PC and Xbox 360 wasn't planned.

After all, a massive game like Gears of War is surely just the thing to encourage PC gamers to try this feature that Microsoft's introduced in Games for Windows - Live, isn't it?

1 - Mark rein answer this question before...

when they ask him why extra features wont be on 360 he said:

PC version use different build of ENGINE so they cannt put it on 360 ..

and for cross platform I think its the main reason.. PC version and 360 have different code and structure and cross platform wont be easy imo...

its just my opinion..

6.2 - K&M better for quicker aiming but...

I've always wondered why the controllers don't have a light-gun capability or something similar to it. Use the controller like a gun. Something for the future I guess.

7 - Such a waste of money.

To have a PC & console to play games.

Console is the overall cheaper option long term.

I'm never buying PCs anymore. Just laptops and consoles...and of course a HDTV.

And I'll be picking up Gears of War 2 in a couple of years when I finally buy my Xbox 360. Should rock.

So you PC lovers just keep on wasting your money: new $oftware, new upgrade; new $oftware, new upgrade; new software, new upgrade; etc, etc.

8.1 - I think it depend on what you played on first

But i feel the same, i want to sit in the livingroom playing. And you cant have splitscreen with a computer..
