coming out on 3rd place is the PSP, follow by the PS2 on #4, which still alive, while PS3 is on the 5th spot. DAMN! SONY is doing great. Im proud of being a SONYfan. HEADS UP!

The World numbers are looking very interesting.

PS3 109,067 vs X360 56,779

Almost double this week. It will be very interesting to see the reaction when the X360 drops $50 shortly.
The problem is that the X360 only sold 22,000 outside the US. That is really really bad, and the price-cut is scheduled only in the US.

Last time the PS3 had around 13,000 consoles sold over the 360.
Now this time it closed off to about 9,000 consoles. A small increase for the 360 platform.

Who disagreed with me? Say something and plus it was around 13,000 last week. Its a decrease I didnt say anything that wasnt true did I?

while i like your vigor in supporting your platform, your first comment is also what spurs fights. Maybe tone it down a dash.

Also if we're really going to use their numbers, go and check their Europe and Aus numbers, the Ps3 and 360 are pretty much dead even. The big difference is japan where the PS3 got a boost from Hot Shots golf, but i think it'll do the same thing as the 360, big game comes out, console sales spike for a few weeks and then the Wii anally dominates it again

Anyways the PS2 is still looking good. I'm looking forward too
Persona 3 coming out soon. It has received very high rating in the magazines I have read. Now Atlus there a under rated company. Who can make some money for a console.

Hmmmm looks like the the 360 is the only one too see a increase.
I wonder if Two Worlds and Bioshock will help boost their sales.
And the $50 price cut that will take affect soon.
Should be very interesting too see what unfolds in the month of August.

and downgrade PS3 figures by a slight amount (like 14% and -5% respectively) so it's easy to guess what the real U.S. figures are.

Well Jason I think the only reason we post these numbers is yes for something to talk about. The only accurate numbers would come from the companies themselves and they don't do that often enough for us to care. Someone posts it when they do but it's hardly anything to hold your breath for. While these are not entirely accurate they still offer us a pretty decent look at figures of sales.

No because part of the reason why PS3 did so poorly was because of the perception along with the price. The brand of the Sony PS3 has gotten stronger since the red rings effected the 360, so even when the 60gb is gone the 80gb is still going to sell well.

The xflops who claim the PS3 sales are weak need to realize the PS3 was at one point supply constrained. It was sold out for more than a week on Amazon. The sales dipped 4% because of that. Now when you look Amazon the PS3 has been #1 for more than 24 hours. Just like Wii dropped %3 from last week, but that doesn't mean the demand has gotten any less, it just means the Wii is supply constrained too and it's selling as much as Nintendo is putting out.

PS3 will be crushed after this Xmas and the clearance, whats hard to understand?. Some jumped in thinking why not its $100 cheaper when it goes back up to $600 when the 360 will be $480/$400/$300 the PS3 will get hammered. Who knows what the Wii and 360 line-up will bring.

nasim: I think you know its not good that it takes a drop of $100 bucks to out sell the 360 by 10 thousand in a temporary price reduction. E Nuff said.

Almost forgot...

If Nintendo or MSFT adjust the price of their console's in any way the PS3 clearance won't matter and could back fire on Sony making the problem worse than it was before the earily drop.

The PS3 outsold the 360 by over 50k world wide this week. The 360 is at 22k out side the US. That is awfull dude.
The PS3 manufacturing costs are dropping way faster than the 360.
The PS3 80GB will cost $499 this xmas if not less.

We sony fans have been saying it since day one. The PS3's time will come.
You guys have been saying it will never come.
Guess what. Sony's time has come.
Remember these numbers are before the games are even here.
I didn't expect this before the beginning of September.

The PS3 out sold the 360 this week by 50k. Thats sounds about right.
According to these charts.
But we know 37k came from Japan alone. And thats hardly a fair place to even count, but I guess we have too. But everyone knows Japan is bias against the 360, that's why they dont wanna buy it. They only wanna support their own country consoles. But the 360 has been chipping a little of that ice away. But will it ever be big in Japan probaly not.
But who really knows?

So if we just counted the rest of the world ( except Japan ). It would be about 13k consoles. 9k being around the USA alone.

And I think the 360 will pull back up when the price cut goes in play.

While I dont dismiss VGcharts easily, I think PS3 might have done better in reality and when official numbers come since we all know how the sales jumped after price-cut and E3.

But the fact that a rather casual (No offence to great Metroid P3 and Mario Galaxy) console like Wii is selling twice as much as hardcore consoles of 360 and PS3 is still bothering me (Call me SonyMS Fanboy).

Hope both 360 and PS3 reach 100k per month soon. (Let the might of Halo 3, GTA4 and MGS4 be with you my fellow consoles!)
