Microsoft, EA sign sports game ad deal

Microsoft Corp. said on Wednesday it will pipe advertisements into a slate of popular sports video games from Electronic Arts Inc. including its best-selling "Madden" football franchise.

The deal, which also covers EA's "NASCAR," "Tiger Woods" golf, "NHL" hockey and upcoming "Skate" skateboarding games, is a significant win for Microsoft as it tries to build an early lead over rivals such as Google Inc. in putting ads into video games.

The deal is also the latest indication of increasingly cozy ties between Microsoft, the world's biggest software company and EA, the No. 1 independent video game publisher.

1 - Will Microsoft be allowed to advertise in Nintendo & Sony games?

What will be interesting is whether Microsoft can advertise their own products in EA Sports games for Nintendo and Sony consoles.

Also, a deal between Microsoft and EA Sports, does Peter Moore have any role in this...

technically they have been doing adds in sony hardware for a long time, sony makes PCs what operating system do you think it uses, Windows of course

but on another note some of super super sony fans who love everything sony should love windows, because they're favorite thing in the wrold uses it

Microsoft ads in PS3 and Wii games? Oh dear...But I doubt it although I am sure there was a PS3 add in a 360 game I was playing once a sports game, could have been Fifa not sure...

That's right that Peter Moore deal is starting to pay dividends..early-lol

Anyhow Advertising is the way of the future on our Dashes/Homes ala both Xbox360 and PS3.

Anyhow if MS, starts making tons of money on the ads, then shouldn't XBL registration become cheaper overtime? would be nice,not that I'm complaining but that's the only way I see Sony keeping PSN free..

9.2 - Virus ya know for the longest time

looking at the Pros and Cons, of Free Vs Paid Live experiences, I never thought of the "Banning" measure MS can and does take, to eradicate cheaters, modders and other goons on the XBL service.

Another reason why there is more control/regulation over the XBL network.

I'm not sure how sony will manage it's users, maybe by IP..hehe Does anyone know?

.....you can ban by mac adress.

which solves the problem if the user has a dynamic IP.
to change your mac address you either have to buy a new console, or be good enough with hardware to take the ethernet circuitry out of the console and replace it.

I hate to pay just as much as the next guy but I hate trolls and cheaters and i am willing to pay to avoid them. PSN is a great service but since it is free you can never get rid of the idiots without banning the mac address which is a problem due the 2nd hand market.

10 - Ads in Other platforms could be possible.

The Artist of the month is Velvet Revolver and they are sign to BMG SONY music and they have a video of how they made their video on XBL. Also OZZY is sign to Sony music and they had a couple of videos for him on XBL.
Just like when you see WWE PPV commercials during TNA shows. Its about the people seeing your product.
