1 - what is this?

first of all i saw this game yeah is a game about cars and some other stuft but it din't really bring my attetion to it the game is no good compare to gran turismo 5 on E3 i though it was a movie until my friend told me no thats the game so i'll say this game is as cheap as the xbox am not saying is a bad game but i'll go with reality even midnight club should be more fun than this.

1.1 - Well Cadence, I would say-

You really have to play it before you knock it, when I first played PGR3 I didn't like it, but since it was one of my few games on launch I had no choice but to play it over and over.

Soon I came to appreciate what an amazing game it really is, for one the in-car view which for me was just amazing when I found out about it, and start racing like that all the time, then I start actually learning how to drive really good, take corners right and stuff.

After that, I was hooked.

Best part is when you start getting some serious money and can put some really nice cars in your garage, that just made me a junkie and I totally love the game.

So with bikes now being added and weather changing should be amazing -Play it first, and force yourself to play it for a few days then tell me what you think, I bet you will come to appreciate it. Trust me, it's just one of those games that's like that.

Best graphics in a racer to date. Plus the motorcycles add a whole new dimension to the game play.

I agree Bloodmask. My only concern is that like in Test drive Unlimited, the bikes won easily in races against cars so how would they balance the play. Would they have different sets of timings for cars and bikes? But look at the gfx and the dipiction of speed.

3 - nothing close to the original videos they showed.

Framerate looked low as well, why can't they get 60fps? They blamed being rushed for PGR3 for not having 60fps. There is no more excuses. Heck PGR1 had 60fps, they keep taking 1 step forwards, two steps backwards. The physics on the bike seem overly floaty as well.

GT:HD looks better and it isn't even a game really.

Really they should just work on Geometry Wars Evolved II, that would rock. Leave racing games to people that actually know what they are doing.

6 - ( PLAY ) it before ( COMMENTING.... )

You don't know what your talking about... 30fps, 60fps. Game developers use this features to their advantage depending on the technology that's presented to them at the time, and make certain compromises when adding ( new/innovative ) features.
( PLAY - surely w/PGR4 we can't as of yet, but PGR3 going backwards... ) the game before commenting and ( FEEL and SEE ) the difference with the added features on each series.
Definitely PGR3 ( plays,feel,looks ) so much better than the game that precedes it, and so does PGR4 will be once it comes-out ( w/ the added features of ( better/differing ) weather physics, more cars, addition of motorcycles plus the physical gestures that each driver reflects, also in-car camera viewpoints.

GT is maybe coming out someday in 2009, and maybe it will really look that great. Until that day comes, please zip it.

PGR is the most fun racer ever, especially when played online. Imo.

You say it was ment to be a simulation? PGR was NEVER ment to be sim, it was near enough the sequel to Metropolis Street Racer, which wasn't sim, AT all.

10 - Don't believe...

I DON'T BELIEVE YOU - PLAYABILITY is so much more IMPORTANT than anything else. FEATURES comes second.
Even Forza2 cannot be considered ( TRUE ) sim, nor GranTurismo 3 and all the series before it.
You would'bt be able to know the goings-on behind the making of these games and give-out ( ORDERS ) to justify if the game can be done realistically simulated or go for the arcade approach, or even go the middle ground and mix the two.
It's all about ( COMPROMISES ). I believe even the up-coming GranTurismo 5 will never be able to deliver everything all us gamers would ever hope it would do. What it would bring is ( more features ) than the last game.
In the end it's all about the enjoyment of playing - which gives the game it's longevity.
GranTurismo 5 and PGR4 are truly " BENCHMARK " driving/racing games, because of the innovations that they put in every new series.

PGR4 looks great, IMO the best looking racer to date.

Its not just one car with a photo for a background like another certain racing game...

as for 60fps, it was a conscience choice by Bizarre Creations not to go with 60, but with 30FPS with more eye candy.

i have to agree with them, game looks great, and it it never drops below 30fps will be a perfectly fine framerate for a racer.

14 - PGR is a good balance of Sim and Arcade...

Its not Forza/GT, but its far from Burnout. In PGR, the different engine and drive wheel layouts feel different - and similar to their counterparts in Forza and GT.

There isn't all the tweaking of Forza, which can make it more accessible for those who JUST want to race. In Forza, tweaking gear ratios and downforce can be necessary for victory.

My point is that each of these games have their niche - and are not trying to be or necessarily beat the other. It's not a matter of which is better, its a matter of preference, and most racing fans can appreciate the different styles.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for Forza, sometimes for Burnout, and sometimes for something kinda in between.
