Xbox 360 Virtua Fighter 5 looks set to be definitive version

Sega has revealed that Virtua Fighter 5 is finally due to be released on the Xbox 360 within a few months, and it comes complete with Live multiplayer and a collection of extras over the PlayStation 3 version.

While true...Sega has never been a big 25gb CD filling dev company. I can see Epic and Konami and Square doing it later, but Sega's software doesn't have much of a wow factor that needs that much memory. They could add every character from all the past Virtua Fighters and put it on the disk, but then it wouldn't be Virtua Fighter 4...

Just because Blu-Ray holds more info dosen't mean automatically Devs are gonna write bigger games.
Writing Bigger games costs Devs more money which they are not willing/or are less willing to do on a smaller install base.
Why is that so hard for some people to see?
Even if they do make it how long will it take to be released?
MGS4/FFXIII anyone?

I don't know about you guys but I bought my 360 to play games (a bunch of different games) right now not whenever Devs get around to releasing them. I don't want to use my system as a DVD playing while waiting for games to come out, I have a DVD player for that job.

The MGS4 info has been around since November 2004 (look it up if you don't believe me) and the game still isn't out.
In the time being I have played a ton of games on my 360 and have a ton of great ones still coming in the next year.

And guys I'm not trying to be mean or even get into those silly flame wars, I'm just talking the truth.

Great POST BLADESTAR very well said and full of HARD FACTS. SONY should have made a GAME CONSOLE 1st I think also only having 256MB compaired to 360's 512MB makes a diffrence also and SONYFAN BOYS have SONY to thank for no online play to rush it into market because of lack of games.

Tekken is slow? what fighting game have you been playing? At least you can run in Tekken...on SC and VF5 you have to tap your way everywhere. I think you can run in SC too, but they do that heroic running crap in some kind of pose

Of course it will have online so it is the one to get. i had it on the PS3 and played it to death and traded it in for The Darkness. It got old because I had no online. 360 owners you have the best fighter coming soon.

you know Chemical, i never looked at it that way, all early PS3 adaptors are getting screwed for getting it early and paying the bug bucks and still no games except one (R:FOM), and now they go and do a price drop? and if you buy it this month you get 5 free blu-rays??? its a GREAT DEAL if your loking for HD player that as a bonus plays games.....but guys like Chemical get the SHAFT

congratulations!

i cant hate....i love this game no matter what happens in this so called "console wars"
i for one only own a ps3 and im very happy to see the vitua fighter series go online ( since it was said it couldnt be done) i hope some day the ps3 version gets a update but that could take a while.( 2-6 months)

im not here to say if one is better than the other but the online adds to the replay value and i wish the version im playing had this feature but this is usually the price you pay to be a earlier adopter...oh well, i just hope sega hasnt forgot about me.

a little advice too all

lose the control pad and buy a the 360 VF joystick( coming soon ). many moves are are almost impossible with a controller.

It's time to face it Sony boys. There is no secret power to the PS3. The only power it has is giving developers a headache to even run games on the cell bc it is not a practical games processor. Not to mention the graphics card in the 360 is way better.

This will happen time and time again with 360 always getting the better version. You can click disagree all you want. It is only bc you are brainwashed bc the truth is right in fromt of you.

360 = dedicated gaming processor, powerful GPU, good development tools with XNA, and easy game coding with short development cycles so companies spend time making great games and maximize profits.

PS3= good Blu ray player, a processor that is not solely meant for games, and underpowered GPU, increased development time and minimization of profit for developers.

From a business perspective which would you prefer?

Must suck paying loads for a console and have zilch to play on it except movies, then just when the games are announced the price tumbles down and you're like WTF? And before you know it, your bluray player will fail on you from playing all that porn and that's when some games finally arrive and you're going to go WTFx3.
