1.3 - Change colour

There is a Video quality setting were you have a colour correction option at the start of the game. This does add a more vibrant colour scheme. And you can choose a colour scheme that does looked washed out.

It must be said the PS3 version did have more colour in this video, but my 360 version which I have just watched again at the same starting sequence, isn't as washed out as the game appears on the Game trailers video.

This could be just a video setting more than anything else. If not then the PS3 version does have a bit more colour.

I also have a PS3 but wanted the 360 version because I have more of a friends list. It had nothing to do with graphics.

360 still has the AA edge slightly but neither version look bad and in motion not many people can tell the difference....

oh and as far as color, that's what RGB FULL does for the PS3 you xmorons, I would put my PS3 up against ANY 360 anyday because I know which console has the better graphics. I can see it with my own two eyes and don't need these bought and paid for sites like 1up to tell me which game "looks better". Even the idiots here know that but use it to get under PS3 fans skin.

this is also what happens when an unbiased website doesn't cripple the PS3's output. When you use HDMI,1080p,RGB FULL and super black/white contrast on a flatpanel display, THE PS3 VERSION DESTROYS THE 3FIXME IN EVERY GAME THEY HAVE IN COMMON.

4 - i am surprised.

wow, I ask my friend to first look and tell me where the ps3 and xbox sign is, then i try to block it out for the whole video so i can be unbiased. I gotta to say, the color this time i have to give it to the PS3, i surprised myself there. I thought the xbox version would have better color bc it usually does, but this time PS3 has better color, it doesn't look as wash out as other ports. The xbox version on the other hand had a film of piss-green/yellow tint to it, wtf. TV setting?? or what

Starbreeze dedicated two teams to each console when developing this game. Thats why the game looks equally stunning on both consoles. The minor variations being the Xbox360 not having the AA issues in certain areas, and the PS3 having a sweeter/deeper color palette.

Ps3 version looks lighter and has more colors, surprised i thought 360 has better lighters, but not always. Maybe it's because the game originally was a ps3 exclusive, then announced multi-platform, so originally ground-up for ps3.

I saw the video, PS3 version is more vivid than the 360 version in terms of color and all (Not washed out like the other ports, awesome!!!), but PS3 has jaggies, not really noticable though, the 360 takes the win on that part, but both games look really good

It's almost surprising, but the ps3 version has better lighting, and is more clear. I think with these multiplatform games it's going to keep going both ways, especially when developers get the grips with the ps3.

This time around, the 360s version looks to be the washed out, greenish tone looking one. Also sligtly less sharp and deep in contrast.

Often times, it's the other way around so don't hate. It's just an opinion base on my observation of the low-res video.

They both look great but the PS3 version has way better colors. The 360 version looks to greenish and a tiny bit unpolished. Nevertheless a great games for whichever console you have.

That IGN has pictures with the xbox leading the comparison and then this video comes out. The PS3 is clearly the better of the two in this video with better color, and clarity.

However, I have never heard or read that PS3 (or 360) has any advantage in colors. This comparison has a completely different results from IGN and GameSpot.

BTW, just so you know, IMO, GameTrailer does have a bias for PS3. If you go over to its forums, you will see that the place is run by Sony fanboys, and many moderators show in their profiles that they are PS3 fans and dislike Microsoft. And a couple more extreme GameTrailer moderators would ban people for just saying "I would never get a PS3 (until it gets cheaper.)"

That's the situation in GameTrailer forums. The main section is under different management.

If I see it in my area I'll pick it up, but does anyone agree that these differences in most of these multi-platform games are so minimal as to not have a strong impact regardless of what platform you're playing on? It seems that the worst of the ports and multiplats have passed, and developers are starting to lock on much more efficient methods of coding for both machines.

I won't even comment on which looks better, because the game just looks flat out good, and that's the most important thing IMO.

At this point, I think the best method to go about choosing which system to get your multi-plats on would be based on your preference for their online gaming and the comfort of the controller. If you like Live and the 360 controller, get a 360, if the same applies for PSN and the SIXAXIS, go with it. Hats off to Starbreeze for delivering a stellar game on both fronts, and this bodes very well for their upcoming Riddick remake.

I got to agree that the PS3 has more color. I'm a PS3 owner first off, but really these comparisons are pointless. Somebody will try to spin this and say something like "Well, they may have turned down the color for the Xbox 360 version so that the PS3 version will look like it has more". Look at Ktchong's post(btw, no hating and disrespect to you), he said that gametrailers are sony-biased. Whether if its true or not, who knows really. That's why the best way to compare is just to do your own side-by-side comparison "if you can" with the TV settings in default. That's what I'm going to do tomorrow. I'll bring my PS3 and the Darkness that I rented to my friend's pad (who's an Xbox owner and just bought Darkness)and just compare it myself in his HDTV.

Regardless, if their Sony-biased, Xbox-biased, Wii-biased, or even Dreamcast-biased, it is still better to just do the comparison yourself if possible. That way you can really judge it yourself because you're right there watching it.
