Xbox 360 Gets Its Hour of Victory

Midway announced today that it has shipped Hour of Victory, its Xbox 360 exclusive first-person shooter built on uber-engine Unreal Engine 3.0.

Hour of Victory looks to differientiate itself in the crowded World War II FPS genre by offering several gameplay options, including sneaking as a covert operative, hardcore action as a British Commando, or sniping as an Army Ranger. It also gives players the ability to commandeer any vehicle on the battlefield as they see fit.

played the demo off xbox live. Quite frankly not at all impressed. With the amount of shooters available on the xbox this one unfortunately does not hold up amongst the best

Yeah, the demo is really, really bad. Incredibly short and boring, and awfully cheerful for such a horrible condition as war. The only thing I liked was the ability to melee with your gun up close--which, since I haven't played many WWII shooters, I do not know whether that is innovative or already standard.

The demo was horrible, it might be hard to touch it again even if I would get it for free. Horrible, the worst 360 title to date (what I've tested and based on demo)

Pretty much everything is done wrong, controls, AI..there is not really AI at all. You can walk towards the enemies with your knife and stab them into face and dodge all the bullets .. ah forgot, you don't have to dodge, they miss every single bullet aimed to you.

Oh, and they implemented greatest jump ever. You do jump, but not over obstacles, if you encounter obstacle higher than your ankle, prepare to find another route.

So, if you like nice and peaceful Sunday walk in a park with a knife and occasional face stabbing and useless jump option.. then buy it.

Real waste of UE3 engine.

this game is making it to the store? really ugly and not very fun to play. keep a watch on this one. it will be $40 in two weeks. the only thing that will save this game is if there are easy achievements. achievement whores might buy this just for the points!
