New Haze Screens and Update - Haze Release on Ps3 in November, Xbox360 and PC Dates Un-confimed

A spokesperson for Ubisoft has confirmed this morning that yesterday's release schedule was incorrect. Haze is still to be confirmed for PC and Xbox 360, apparently, so the 30th November date now slips into the realms of TBA. The exclusive PS3 date remains the same.

3 - A multiplat game not delayed on the PS3 but probably delayed on PC and 360?

Have I stepped into an alternate universe? Next you will tell me people are buying Halo because the graphics are great but the gameplay sucks.

"[Haze on]PS3 is confirmed for release this year. 360 and PC versions are not confirmed for release this year."
We've also spoken to dev legend David Doak, co-founder of Free Radical, who told us that Haze has been built using the Linux coding language - a language that is best suited to PlayStation 3.
Haze is being lead developed for PlayStation 3 and will be released for Sony's hardware this year. Xbox 360 and PC versions are also in the works, but will not appear until 2008."

Now that 2008 release date may be incorrect but so may your assumption on where it was actually developed.

a couple of interviews with the devs for this game and it was made for and designed as a PS3 game. Wow you just didn't even think that was possible or were too lazy to even research. Either way Im getting it.

PS3 is the lead platform. You guys have to remember this game is not being made by Ubisoft only published by them. The game is being made by Free Radical, ex Rare employees who worked on Golden 007 and Perfect Dark on the N64.

Sony fans have finally been thrown a bone but why do they want to deny other people from playing this game?

Wouldn't that just mean that the game makes less money and could possibly become less supported? Wouldn't you want the game to be as successful as possible?

I think that Free Radical are only hurting themselves by knocking the PC and 360 version out of the holiday schedule. This game could sell great, not only on the 360, but definitely on the PC where FPS are awesome.

If people own one console im sure they will want a good game to be exclusive to that console, it makes you feel much more glad to own it.

if a game is exclusive from the get go then that makes sense, but a company that strips its multiplatform nature and reduces its potential install base is not that great.

I think thats the difference. If an exclusive game goes multiplatform it hurts, but you are still getting the game. If a multiplatform game goes exclusive its robbing people of the game. Isn't that worse than the other way around?

to be honest, i was upset to hear that Beautiful Katamari might be exclusive to the 360, the game won't sell as well this way (although as a budget DL game it might still sell alot) and that will limit the support it gets... hopefully it will be good enough to persuade some of the more "macho" 360 owners to buy it.

I think its fine for a game to be exclusive, but it should not be multiplatform and then changed to exclusive, thats unfair to consumers.

12.1 - most games are C++

but the 360 and new computer games are being done in C#, which is a much more robust language... plus C# works with .NET which is why xbox live can run on the same servers as www.xbox.com and why stats are so quickly transferred... such as when you finish a halo 3 match, you can hit refresh on your profile in a web browser and there are your stats. Its really cool actually.

Also, XNA is a framework built into C#.

Erm, C# isn't more robust. Its a LOT easier than c++, but it wasn't meant to replace c++. I would say C# is more of a Java alternative.

13.1 - yup both systems have great games!

you'll get haze, heavenly sword, udf, LBP, Warhawk, FolkLore and killzone (hopefully) and 360 owners get halo 3, mass effect, too human, bioshock, blue dragon, lost oddyssey, splinter cell, naruto, eternal sonata, PGR4, FlatOut:UC, and two worlds.

Plus all the awesome multiplatform titles!

Blacksite, COD4, assassin's creed, DMC4, Medal of Honor, Brother in Arms, Last remnant (2008?), GTAIV, HL2:orange box, and The darkness

There are probably more... but wallet will be empty and turn inside out by then ;-)

Why are people acting all mad about ps3 getting a timed exclusive. It works both ways. we've had raibow 6 and GRAW2 for the longest time and PS3 is just now going to get those games.

agree with sheng long but those games were they way they were because of production problems am guessing the difficulty in ps3 porting. Am glad they take their time so they dnt do it like another splinter cell and make it graphicaly inferior. I really wouldnt be suprised if haze came out a week later on the 360. If it did i would purchase it on my 360 jst because i prefer the 360 controller for shooters so the ps3 version better be largely superior or i won't get it

"Ubisoft is now saying that maybe that isn't exactly right in a post in the company's official forums.

Officially HAZE is a PS3 lead development, PC and 360 versions are not confirmed at this time. There was an error in a release schedule which went out which is causing a lot of confusion right now.

Before jumping to any conclusions, keep in mind Ubisoft is just saying they haven't "confirmed" that the game is coming to the PC and 360 and that the PS3 version is the "lead" version. I suspect what this really means is that the lead time between the different versions might be a bit longer and that they didn't mean to send out the PC and 360 release dates quite yet."

Personally I cant wait for the plethora of this vs that screens :)

This is good for PS3, it has solid titles on the horizon and needs them badly. 360 owners should be okay for the time being, too many good titles on the horizon. This release should help even things out a bit.

lucky for me i do like fps games and have all 3 systems.

i'm not sure if i'm getting haze though as i already pre-ordered halo3 and bioshock.

I'm pretty sure playstation fans has always liked FPS games. The thing is that there were no FPS for the ps2 that was worth getting. Sony finally got a good fps game that was worth while with Resistance, and I believed the success of that game sparked the interest of both gamers and developers to play and create more FPS games on a Sony console or PS3

that many developers saw this size and frenetic pace of the firefights between humans and the chimera and wet their lips thinking what they would be able to achieve on the PS3.

Im not even trying to be mean when I say this but THE 360 IS DONE AS A LEAD PLATFORM. Resistance has already gone double platinum and is still going strong thanks to the Church of England..lol

Killzone 2 will drop jaws and silence many xbots at E3 and then go on to sell at least 3 millions copies.

Once more developers see a string of multi-platinum hits on the PS3 it's all over.

19 - Because Resistence was such an amazing game.........

It changed my perception of what a good fps is, and before you go what about Halo. I'm going to have to be honest with you and I know it's not a popular thing to say, but I'm going to say it anyhow. I just feel that Halo wasn't that great. Resistence actually made me go out and get a 360 for GOW. I know that's not an fps, but it's similar, and that game I thought was also very awesome.

Damn you Ubisoft. Why do they always do stuff like this. At E32006 Haze was announced for ps3,360, and pc. Now the only "confirmed" release is for ps3 in november. They did the same thing with assasins creed when they announced it at X05 as project assassins but then at E32006 it was only for ps3 and then at X06 they demoed it on 360. I wouldnt be surprised if Haze is shown this year at X07 with either a november release date or a march release date.

I want to play it though because the whole taking drugs seems cool and seeing how I'm a what nerds call a "graphics whore", I want to play it because the game looks alot like crysis. I would hate to have to play this on ps3, its just not as good a controller as 360 is when it comes to FPS.
