Microsoft launches "Final Fantasy XIII White Promo"

Sal of Scrawlfx writes: "In celebration of Final Fantasy XIII's today-announced release date of March 9, Microsoft has launched a new promotion titled the "Final Fantasy XIII White Promo".

The promotion takes place on Twitter calling all fans to retweet a certain message. Anybody that registers on the promo page is promised an "exclusive Xbox LIVE FF XIII gift" in December. I'm guessing it's Avatar clothing or something along those lines."

Wow MS is gonna try passing this off as an exclusive. How much more pathetic can they get? They did the same with MW2 is from the looks of it both versions sold roughly the same. I'm gonna be mad every-time I see the 360 logo after an FFXIII ad. Like salt on wounds.

Not DLC. The gift comes to Live in december, the game launchs in March.

Know what is funny, this will be some stupid wallpaper or other merchandising, that should be free at first place, and people are already calling definitive versions... PS3 will as usual have:

- 1 free wallpaper for each character.

- 2 or 3 themes from which at least one will be free and maybe one will be animated.

- Probably cloths for home that you can buy or unlock trough game.

- Tons of free videos.

- Maybe a free demo closer to release date.

- Maybe one or two musics/clips from the soundtrack for free.

And nobody will care to mention it, as we usually don't bring it to light, and that is because it's not worth mentioning! None of this ads (and that is what yhey are, advertising, and some consumers want to pay for it, lol) make any version better.

More like Microsoft is scared of the PlayStation-Final Fantasy association, hence why they're doing a promo to get the message of a 360 FF13 release coming out as soon as they can to the masses. Kinda like there was heavy marketing for GTA when it was coming out. Tons oF 360 GTA advertisements on billboards and tvs, and practically not as many Sony ones. You guys even notice the GTA Liberty Stories advertisements that are popping up everywhere? It's like they're rebranding the DLC as an entirely new GTA game.

You can call this spin, but marketing and strategically speaking, if you want your version of the game to sell, you gotta start getting the message out now since the FF brand for the past what.. 9 years? has had a strong association with the PlayStation brand.

according to the poor sales and the poor meta scores (the 360 has no exclusive JRPG rate above 79), the 360 is not good for RPG period. MS tried but Japan said NO!

while the PS3 already had the excellent Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles. it will get Star Ocean and Tales Of in a few month. plus White Knight Chronicles (and its sequel WKC2), 3D Dot game hero and a brand new Final Fantasy game probably in 2011. + some other JRPG i dont need to talk about.

10 - if you have both systems

wait if you like ff you know you need to get the ps3 version or if you dont have a ps3 go purchase one and get the ps3 version. Sometimes you got to know when the gig is up and when this gen is starting to look even more like last gen where if you missed out on the ps2 last gen you would be considered insane or worse not even a gamer becuase of all the exclusive titles and gameing history you missed. The ps3 will be the same way so you might as well get in on it now becuase you already know its has an AAA exclusive for every multiplat title out there thats half way decent. ill be keeping all my ff games on the ps3. ff 7 from psn, ff 13, ff 13 versus, ff 14, and all the othere square titels under one ruth like vagrant story etc. it just makes a heck of a lot of since to get a quality game for the quality system and company that you know will be around for ever.

Getting it on PS3. No need for trendy twitter. I was too young to give a sh!t about being fcked by game devs/companies, but now that I am much, much older I can see the B.S from Microsoft.

I will support the PS3 version by getting a few of my friends the game when it hits the states. With that, I'll be enjoying FFXIII in Dec. and in March. (I'm a nut for Final Fantasy)
