Rumor: Dead or Alive 5 In Production For PS3

GF: "If what we're hearing out of the European retail community is to be believed, it looks like the loss of Itagaki from Team Ninja has opened the doors for the Dead or Alive series to "broaden" it's horizons."

I'm pretty sure DOA5 will be on PS3, considering the new Team Ninja with Yosuke Hayashi in charge has expressed their interest in the PS3 (NGS 1&2).

Well it's kind of a no duh now that Itagaki (the PS Nazi) is gone. Ninja Gaiden 2 was never coming to the PS3 according to him, and it didn't just come it came out much better. Tecmo is starting to make exclusive games for the PS3 as well (Quantum). So why keep Dead or Alive on the 360 when you can also have it on the PS3 (where fighting games tend to sell the most), and get double the profit.

DOA 4 sold over slightly over 1 million copies on the 360.

Put 5 on the PS3 as well and boom you have 2.5 million copies which makes Tecmo happy.

This game was definitely a 9 and the DOA series always had the upper punch (haha) when it came to boobies and game play and amazing environments!

Personally I would not care which console the game comes to as long as it happens. It been such a long time since DOA 4 I was starting to think they may have given up on the franchise.

It would have been nice if they had made the game a PS3 exclusive because we could see what they could do if they just pushed the PS3 but obviously that won't be happening if the game is on 360 as well. With the game being on both consoles I don't see it having that much of a graphical leap as it should.

game is only worth looking at. good graphics and nice assets, or should i say boobets, is the only thing good about DOA. it's more of a button smasher than anything else.

360 owners HOPE it will be multiplat seems a new trend is coming.. And MS are no longer so eager to put their hand in their pockets as they used to as they still havn't seen that money come back yet.

2.2 - I for one hopes, that this one gets released for the 360 first.
Because I want the "SIGMA" version!

The 360 can have their Lady Spartan, but they better put NARIKO as a guest character fro the PS3!

Please be more DOA2 hardcore and less DOA4. PLEASE. I hated how the series changed. I liked it more when it was a simple, fun party game.

LOL Yeah right. DOA has been one of the most competitive fighting games ever, besides the the masterpiece that is the Street Fighter series of course.

DOA ?? i think you're confused ... you meant

Virtua fighter as most competitive fighter even on par with Street ..

Or maybe tekken ?

But DOA never got close to them

Itagaki is gone maybe the series can go back to its roots and not in to the game that makes you look like a perv if you choose a female character.

Itagaki made Team Ninja pervy? You do realize Sigma 2 had some characters redone to look more attractive (Ayane IIRC), new characters introduced with big boobs, a new control option implemented that allows you to jiggle boobs with your controller, and a viral ad campaign that involved fake boobs being plastered on a wall right?

1 person didn't make Team Ninja that way, they were like that way without him!

With Itagaki gone wouldn't any issues with Sony be gone as well? Sounds like he was the only who had problems with them.

just have to wonder if its going to be the typical 360 build which will lead to problems on the PS3, or a PS3 to 360 port which might be less problematic.

Look to Burnout for example.

knowing the Team Ninja Standard, they will make their games on the Real most powerful system first, then port to the weaker consoles.

The Dead or Alive series was always multiplatform (good times with DOA 2 on the Dreamcast!) until the Xbox was released where it began to go "exclusive". Dead or Alive 5 was first announced in conceptual form in 2006 for the 360 IIRC, a PS3 port wouldn't be completely out of the question.

"lol. I doubt it though. Xbox360,PS3 is more likely."

what are you talking about?

(taken from article)

"It looks like retailers are already being made aware through distribution channels that DoA 5, the long anticipated sequel to Dead or Alive 4 on the Xbox 360 is indeed in the works as a multi-platform title. Details are still sketchy at this point (no specific platforms named), but we can assume that the 360 and PS3 are the prime candidates for the popular fighter to land on."

12 - DoA 2 Hardcore was easilly the best fighter in the franchise
I think it's better for all DoA fans that they build it up again without a 360 fanboy at the helm. What really gets me is all of the occupants at the kiddy table seem to think that XBox owns the goddamn series, not once remembering that it started on the Sega Saturn and in the Arcades.

DoA is one of the rare few series that has had it's finger in just about every goddamn pie that's been put out on a window. It's a game that should be enjoyed by everyone, but ffs I could care less what console it's on, I just want them to get it right.

See how getting rid of Itagaki has open doors now for PS3 owners? Dude was hating on the PS3 and even admitted it in a indirect way, so I'm glad he is no longer there, if you noticed both Ninja Gaiden games had more added for the PS3 version, and the sad thing is that both are better than Itagaki's installments on the 360.
Definitely looking forward to see DOA on the PS3 and what will they do to optimize it.

come on man, of course both NG games came out with more content on the PS3.IT WAS RELEASED A YEAR LATER!!they have to do something to get people to buy a year old game, thats a no brainer, plus they also have time to sort out any problems in the first game(which is a plus) but dont sit here an try an make it seem as if the PS3 gets more content because Itagaki isnt involved.

The title is misleading, if Dead or Alive 5 is in development, it's most likely a muti-platform title (PS3, Xbox 360).

I've always enjoyed the Dead or Alive series, and I was really hoping we would get a Dead or Alive 5 some day, so I'm happy with this rumor.

Hopefully it's true.

27 - If This Is True...It's A Wrap!!
DOA 4 is the one and only game that makes me miss having a 360. As you can see in my profile, I had gotten EVERY Achievement in that game. I used to travel to tournaments and everything. Some of the top fighters in the world have felt the unorthodox sting of my various Quan martial artists. I have been waiting, anticipating, and expecting this to happen for a LONG time. I'm just one announcement away from the most anticipated sequel I have ever requested. Just make sure that Brad Wong, Helena, Lei Fang, Master Genfu, Eliott, Christie, Kokoro, and Ayane are in the game and all will be well.

28 - DOA belongs on PS3
Tekken and Soul calibur drppped the ball.

SF is a 2D fighter.

DOA 4 was the only good 3D fighting game this gen.

They should make it a PS3 exclusive and use its full potential.

Do you really think Tecmo would make it Ps3 only. I don't think they'll abandon the 360. What they could do is make DOA 3&4 for the Ps3 since sony owners didn't get a chance to play them.
