Updates:
Site now corrected to reflect all 3 versions as Spring 2010.

Would be a good idea if true. Because if Mass Effect is still exclusive to 360/PC (which I doubt), it would be in Sony's and possibly Sega's best interests to make it a timed exclusive on PS3. Also maybe Sony is pissed with Sega about the recent leaks, and they have to give it as a timed exclusive?

I doubt Sega and Sony will talk exclusive deals because of some leaked information. No company leaks more info than Sony themselves. Their BIGGEST news is mostly leaked MONTHS before it materializes. So I don't think they'll talk "exclusive" in return of any information leak. However, there is a good chance that guys at Sony loved what they saw and want to secure a time exclusive deal to push hardware sales even further after the holiday season (assuming this game will launch after holidays). Overall, if it is true, IT IS A GOOD NEWS for us PS3 lovers :)

or it could also mean that the PS3 version will be release at a later date compared to the 360/PC version

That's just stupid dude.

"Hey Sega, we wanna put down $10,000,000 to ensure that PS3 users can play Alpha Protocol 6 months later."

"But it's already coming out day one on both... Yeah, thanks for the offer Sony, we'd like to take you up on that..."

Update added to that... "It has since been updated to read as Spring, 2010 for all 3 platforms."

Anyway, I don't see how "it looks like Sony fans may be in a bit of luck". Hard dates are good. Unclear PS3 dates haven't exactly been harbingers of fortune this gen for the PS3. I hope it's just human error.

that would have been a valid comment if you wrote it when people were saying sony doesn't pay for exclusives but now it just sounds dumb its like asking what time it is an i tell you 1 o'clock then 2 hours later you say i'm wrong its 3 o'clock.

I wouldn't mind, but I'm having some doubts since Sony's testing guys came back to them and said that it didn't feel like an RPG.

I would MUCH RATHER they put some effort in getting Mass Effect 1 & 2 on the PS3 as well as all future BioWare games.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I don't think most people realize that Spring lasts until late June. It looked more like a Dragon Age: Origins scenario to me, with the PS3 version of the game coming out a few weeks after the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

@cgoodno: i agree with you, not to mention i prefer the setting of the mass effect series, this does look good though.

The Mass Effect trilogy is still exclusive to Xbox 360 and PC. But if it manages to go to PS3 expect that they'd have to work on getting the original ported over.

So it's not impossible, just not all that probable.

Yeah, they'd have to pretty much do both on one disc type of thing. I think Dragon Age: Origins will determine the possibility of bringing that to the PS3, though. I've got mine pre-ordered, I hope it sells well enough to encourage BioWare to move all of their IPs to the PS3.

why are you guys talking about bioware and mass effect, this game is made by obsidian (yes they done sequals to some bioware games) they're not the same company. and i doubt they would let obsidian make ports of mass effect on ps3.

1.16 - Something on PS3 to battle with Mass Effect?
I suppose it makes sense, but I don't see anything about Alpha Protocol that puts it on Mass Effects level.

1.17 - @stuntman_mike
Because Alpha Protocol is essentially a port of Mass Effect to a modern setting focused on espionage rather than space marines. But, more importantly, because the two games are similar in what they offer other than setting and lack of party features in Alpha Protocol that instead of Sony getting timed exclusivity, some of us would rather Sony work to get similar games not currently available on the console on it.

My bets is that they are releasing the x360 and pc version a bit later than the ps3 so that it doesnt have to fight it out with Mass effect 2 cos there is only one winner there

"Sony pursuing timed exclusivity for Alpha Protocol?"

Waste of time. PS3 owners don't play multiplats. That's the word on N4G, no?

360 fanboys are still using old arguments? now that's a surprise. i'm shocked! just so you know genius just because halo sold 10 mil doesn't mean all 360 games do the rest sell just as much as ps3 games do some research before you decide to make an ass out of yourself.

Well it's not really something you can pin on the whole audience. Multiplatform doesn't mean uninspired, nor does it have to mean gimped. PS3 fanboys tried to put that mantra out there but the truth is that several multiplatform games score better than exclusives.

Exclusive doesn't mean better, nor does it mean innovative. All those things just come out from what the game has to offer. What it contributes. Both exclusive and mutliplatform games have contributed a lot this gen.

6 - It is a typo..
The website now has all 3 platforms listed as Spring 2010 release..maybe Spring mean May for Sega. who knows.

Since I have both I will wait to see which version is better so I can get the best version.

I imagine you'll just end up getting it for the console you generally prefer gaming on (if you really have a preference-maybe controller you prefer?)as, tnh, the differences these days aren't enough , for me, to overcome any other noral reasons people have for choosing one over the other. Perhaps someone likes their 360 and it's controller, or their PS3 for online games as it's free or the 360 as their mates play on Live(or vice versa on all counts)-who knows but I'd put all those above the tiny differences we now find between multi platform games.

Seriously, I haven't felt the need to chnage what I intended since TOB because of differences in FPS, GFX, tearing, slowdown etc and can't often even see the thngs places like LoT and DF point out even when lookin for them these days! Even they have to use programs to spot the discrepencies and I can't program my eyes to detect normally unseeable screen tears! If the little things comparisons find are important to peoplefor peace of mind then fair enough but personally I don't see anything worth worrying anout much less altering my gaming purchases over-there's only been Ghostbusters this year that was anything like a bad enough PS3 version to make me think about it!

a bit of a stretch. Why buy a month exclusivity? You buy a year or something. Plus, Sony rarely does this anyway. MS is the one handing out briefcases of money.

what the hell is going on first EyePet and now Alpha Protocol. This crap is getting ridiculous considering AP was due out at the end of the month. I mean i know they are alot of titles coming out in the next few months but this is wrong!
