I'm a little worried.....What the hell are they doing to Max? They're taking him out of New York and setting it in Brazil, making him older, shaving his head, giving him a big beard & using a different voice actor?

"Rockstar stated that noir does not mean New York City. Max Payne 3 is still going to be noir, but they stated it would be a contemporary noir. Fans of traditional film noir hope that this ‘contemporary’ approach does not lose the feel that Max Payne 1 and 2 presented to perfection.

Rockstar will not be using original voice actor James McCaffrey. McCaffrey IS Max Payne–that voice is iconic. If a new voice actor helps to tell the story, then it’s an acceptable decision, but it won’t be an easy adjustment for most fans."

It seems developers are messing with the original formula that made Max Payne such a big success.

1.1 - I trust Rockstar on this
Rockstar does not make sh!tty games and I am certain they will deliver on this. They know they are in a position where there are fans that will be really upset if this game is not done right. In fact, I am sure there are fans that have completely written this game off on account of the new locale and look of Max Payne. So they are no doubt focusing on what made this game awesome in the first place, being different. Changing up the locale, making Max a little older and more badass, and improving upon the game mechanics while keeping the noir feel, will give this game a boost into the next gen. I would love to see Max in NY, but I am going to give it a shot in Sao Paulo, as it is a very gritty city too.

I'll give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt on this one and reserve judgment until I play it.

2 - No James McCaffrey either?
Well that settles it. NOTHING about this sounds like a Max Payne game I'd be remotely interested in playing. This is the kinda junk Hollywood pulls when they "reimagine" video games for the big screen. Weird to see a developer pulling a Hollywood. Guess they figure if they ruin Max Payne enough, Hollywood won't wanna make a sequel to the equally bunk Wahlberg movie, lol!
