Why Gears 3 will be on the Xbox 360

There has been a lot of speculation recently on gaming forums around the internet that Gears of War 3 will not be released on the Xbox 360 but instead for the next generation of consoles. This conjecture started after the president of Epic Games said during a Q&A session at TGS that, "If there were a next Gears of War, that will be for the next console generation, whenever that is."

Seriously? If so thats cool. If not it doesn't matter, Im not getting it anyways, the last two games were underwhelming to me. I dont care much for the overly huge characters that walked as fast a slug.

I'd actually like to see UE4 drop with a new IP, like UE3 did with the original Gears, so while I doubt Gears 3 would show much progression on the current engine/hardware, I'd still prefer it that way.
