IGN: Project Natal FAQ

Perhaps you've heard of Microsoft's next big thing for Xbox 360, Project Natal. This little peripheral is the company's answer to Wii's motion controllers that have brought gaming to a whole new audience. Natal was first announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo earlier this year. Since then, the information has been trickling out of all corners, from loose-lipped execs to third-party developers. To get everyone up to date, IGN has compiled this set of frequently asked questions and the answers they have so far. There's still so much more to learn, but if you're looking for a little clarification, this is the place to start.

the xbl vision camera was not that great. Natal is truly a next gen camera. Good to see Microsoft push it. Will they succeed? only time will tell.

my guess, I'm surprised to see the extensive developer support so i think it will succeed, but not so much to steal the Wii kids crowd. I think stealing the wii kids crowd will be impossible since in most kids minds, wii is a must have with killer titles like pokemon.

Microsoft is trying get in that wii market . But to do this they would need some lovable characters like

Mario,zelda,pokemon,etc .

Maybe rare is only going to make casual games for Natal . That would explain there absence .

Kinda a sad though...wont see a killer instinct .

3 - I'm interested most in seeing games like mechwarrior take advantage of natal.
A head-tracked and limb tracked mech warrior would be killer.

There are a few things that controllerless gaming would be great for.. but trust that games will release with accessories it IS needed.

you don't need a wheel to play a wii racing game.. but it feels stupid holding a stick or just your hands out.. it helps with range of motion when driving.

feedback? dead? I don't think so....

I think natal will and could be very cool just like the wii and sony but microsoft and third party companies plan on raping you with accessories. only since you dont have a wiimote or sony wand you will most definitely need something like this package and much more..
