1 - very true.
There seem to be almost no compelling female characters in games. I admit even being surprised sometimes and a little disappointed when I see a game I want to play that has a female lead. Part of it is because they are usually so poorly written, and the other part is that I have a hard time identifying with a girl main character in trying to really fall into the game. Hopefully if there are more frequent and better written female characters all that will change.

Girls already have a fantasy world they live in, plus they can't blow all their shoe money on games!
I'm kidding.
Getting girls to play games would be interesting. I would asume you need a bunch of girls to help design games. Not the geeky girls either because the cool girls won't like it and not the cheerleaders because they're idiots. A bunch of average main stream girls.
This is bad but as I'm not a girl I don't care. I'd hate to have to fight my girl over my 360 or PS3 time. Shivering...
