Cryptic: MS holding back Xbox 360 Champions Online

Do gamers sense a trend in the world of Xbox 360 MMOs? Cryptic CCO Jack Emmert made it known that Microsoft is seemingly the only thing standing between Champions Online and the Xbox 360. Said Emmert, "It just takes time for the big beast known as Microsoft to get moving," adding that he had no better explanation for the hold up and "it's as baffling to developers as it is to everyone else."

1.1 - Probably...
not capability - Microsoft can do it if anyone can, but it is probably a matter of control. They had the same issues with the now defunct Marvel MMO, which would have been a system seller for me.

With DCUO and Agency, Sony seems to be farther in the MMO console game, but they should be. Although Microsoft is king of software and network services, Sony gave us the MMO.

Considering that the the PC version is struggling, has been greatly diminished from what it was going to be, you can't blame MS for Huxley. Same with Marvel Universe, unless it was 360 only.

I dunno about Huxley but MS (MGS) were in on the short rise and fall of Marvel U. This all seems to have started with the failure to get True Fantasy Live out the door on Xbox original. I don't know what's wrong with MS and MMOs. They keep promising, talented devs show interest, but nothing ever materializes besides two old titles (FFXI and PSU) on their new machine. It's damn embarrassing.

It's because Live is a premium service, I'll wager. But I don't get why it was so easy for FFXI and so hard for every MMO since, including FFXIV.

Whatever the case, I suspect money is at the bottom of it.

They are probably trying to formulate a way to make it seem like paying extra on top of live fees is a good thing.
