Crysis 2 Teaser Site Hits, Includes New Videos

Gamer's Guide To Life writes: 'The website, found at http://www.crynetsystems.com/, hints to a game which could include alot of fancy technology and some very pretty computer systems.

Including a detailed lowdown of what appears to be a character suit (the Nanosuit 2), two videos and various wallpapers, as well as the option to contact the fictional Crynet Systems and a mysterious login area, everything seems to be pointing to a game in which technological advancements and science go hand in hand with warfare.'

I wonder how people who buy Crysis 2 on the consoles will get a handle on the events thus far. Crysis 2 is a direct sequel to the first. It's gonna be weird for people that have never played Crysis to just jump into it like that.

Also, new nanosuit? :O

There could be an intro or something that goes over the events of Crysis so new players know what's going on.

I played Crysis. It's a very run-of-the-mill, by the numbers, generic shooter. I'm not as excited for the sequel. Obviously at the time Crysis was the best looking video game ever created but the game never impressed me beyond that.

Why don't you actually go and PLAY Crysis before calling it generic, hmm?

The PC world is definitely over-due for a successor to Crysis's graphics and as for Crysis being generic... what?

Crysis is a really intense game and it's far from generic.

Please piss off gargoyle. Crysis' story was terrible and the characters and dialogue boring. The second half of the game is piss poor.

Lol.

Crysis' story is pretty good. It's not the best, but it's good. And the characters are awesome, what are you talking about. Psycho's a kick ass guy and Prophet is a beast.

I'm sure that console players, like myself, will be brought up to speed. Hopefully they won't leave this huge gap under some false guise that all console players have played the original.

I really hope they don't dumb down the controls and gameplay for the controller input :(

Or the graphics, I remember the pre-release screenshots for UT3 which they said were real-time, and even the websites who had hands-on said that's what it looked like in-game, and it turned out only looking half as good as the screenshots when it was released, and the gameplay felt slower than any of ther other UT games.

2.3 - The current Crysis
Supports the 360 gamepad. I have a feeling it will be pretty much the same. It works very well.

As for the graphics, I'm sure that the consoles will be very scaled down. I expect it to look pretty good. Far Cry 2 came out great.

Console FPS gameplay is usually a little slower than it is on PC. The speed and accuracy you get with a mouse can't be done well with a controller. You could increase the speed at which the controller allows you to look around but that would make it harder to aim.
Plus enemies in console versions seems to be tweaked a little to make them a tad bit easier to hit (that could just be me though).

No, you're right. Games are often slower paced on consoles.

I can't imagine playing UT3 on the PS3 at PC speeds, lol.

2.6 - Crysis
Supports the gamepad very well and the gameplay wasn't hindered at all. I could still do all sorts of wild stunts while using my 360 gamepad. The only problem was I could never find out how to go prone...

For some reason that Crynet Systems site reminds me of Cyberdine Systems and Skynet from Terminator 2.

Obviously it will sell nowhere near as well as our hotly anticipated game, Generic Wargame 1.5.

Not really fond of the new nano suit. Are they training midgets at Cry-net or something ? The arms and legs look weirdly of proportion , and BTW did anyone notice it looks like there is a metal thong over the crouch part lol.

I'd be willing to bet that 90% of the people on here pointlessly bashing Crysis calling it generic/tech demo/boring etc. have never even played the game or given it a chance, We all know the whole "tech demo" excuse to downplay Crysis as a game is lame

If you think the game is boring or generic, More power to you, that's your unique opinion and you're entitled to it, but don't go parading it off as a fact when the majority of the credible gaming community disagrees with you, In the same vein, there are gamers out there who genuinely found Uncharted, MGS4, Killzone 2, COD4, Gears of War and all your favorite games just as boring, Does that mean those games suck? No

First off, I don't think all graphics/no gameplay/generic tech demo can get a 91 metacritic score, That is unless Crytek bribed the entire gaming media, lol, To call Crysis a bad game and turn around and praise games like Killzone 2 and Uncharted that scored the same or even less is just hypocritical and double-standard minded wreaking of obvious bias and ignorance

http://www.metacritic.com/g...

I heavily doubt that sites like Gamespot can give Crysis the best shooter of the year over Call of Duty 4, Bioshock and Halo 3 just because it looked prettier, But, hey, why listen to real facts, credible evidence and logic on n4g? It's the thought of bashing the game that counts, doesn't it? If it makes you feel better, Crysis sucks indeed

Here's an in depth analysis of Crysis gameplay and what makes it so unique in an oversaturated sea of shooters

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Now, console gamers should be happy and appreciative that they're getting such a worthy franchise from a very talented developer, Crysis isn't perfect, but once you get into it, there's nothing like throwing a chicken at a north Korean or choke throwing em' 20 feet up in the air

+bubbles for truth.

Nothing beats the first half of Crysis in terms of raw action in my mind. I had to stop and literally catch my breath after fighting through the town level for the first time :\

I bought crysis and COD:MW at roughly the same time. Which was boring..COD. which did i finish first..COD. Crysis was so interactive, and the way firefights were truly dependant on the environment was unparalleled. really enjoyed it. One of the best feels to a shooter iv had, just needed better animations :)

Side note: How will the Nanosuit2 fit in...if were going back to the island straight away after the first game? Theres no time gap to fit in an updated technology...

Sounds very good, as I thought that COD4 was done well for its time.
I've never had the chance to play Crysis, so I guess I'm in for a treat, hopefully.
