Can't say I ever played Chromehounds. Shame that so few MMO's flounder due to the extraordinary success of games like World of Warcraft.

I wouldn't say Chromehounds is a MMO persay, from what I've seen/read it seems like MechAssault with a deeper online component for consoles.

There's no point in the petition since if you even try to go online. There's no one to play with you unless you call up one of your buddies that do have the game.

That's why you should always go the Warhawk rout, offering Peer2Peer and Dedicated Servers. But developers are too lazy apparently.

A majority of Xbox Live games that use dedicated servers do offer a P2P alternative, but then again, this is Sega and well all know how much they care for their fans.

*Looks at the disgusting Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), bug ridden game stopping glitches in the Condemned Series, Shenmue III* :(

I don't think anything can save a dieing Chromehounds community. It will only waste money on the developer side.

I'm sure those crappy Sonic games hurt Sega more than Chromehounds! :p

I just literally got off of chromehounds. Well it was a good run. But in the coming months I won't be playing it anyways.

I might pick it up for cheap just to try it out, I figure I should at least do this much until Mech Warrior arrives.

Elven 6 its only 10$ from gamestop.

I loved the game. I had a 8 gunned sniper cannon. moved slow, but If I landed 4 shots on a new guy he was down and all 8 shots 2 times on a heaver system. I would knock them out. But like I said I was slow and big. XD

The game was great about letting you set up your mechs.

this is an argument agaisnt dedicated servers for online games.

or it's an indication of Sega's dumb ideas to not let MS handle the connections.

i rather take a random player-to=player connection thats guaranteed to stay available as long as xbox live exists (like 99% of xbox games), than a dedicated server that has a chance to be shutdown.

Yea but the reason they had it dedicated was the player vs player war in the game you could pick a side fight for that side, win lose. elect leaders, plan attacks. control land.

I disagree on that.A game that is getting shut down from a diminishing community is clear proof that its popularity is finished.I don't look back on games that have a dead or insignificant community. There is just point for any developer to hold onto the servers

5.3 - but thats the thing
with MS hosting the peer-to-peer options, it doesn't matter. i can pop in the old xbox1 street fighter anniversary collection and fight one or 2 dudes at random intervals of the day that also pop it in.

sure its only a handful of us still playing it, but the comfort i get from knowing that, as long as xbox live exists, i can play it with other people who enjoy the classics and dont have to rely on capcom deciding "we dont want you to play this game anymore" gives me pleasure. thats one of the main reasons i pay $50 a year for XBL.

for the comfort of knowing that i can play any online game whenever. regardless of community size.

The fact that we are even talking about this game server closing is a testament to it's popularity. If noone cared or played it would be gone already.

The other issue is the Mech genre is already small enough as is on "next gen" consoles, the Armored Core games on the 360 and PS3 are mediocre.

There is going to be a huge gap in mech games until Mech Warrior releases.
