I'm curious where his tie-in to the story leads to as well. I'm reading "Jacinto's Remnant" - which takes place after the end of Gears 2.

Nothing in there yet about this guy aside from more of the back story, and I'm about 1/2 way through.

yes gears of war2 had glitches when it came out, so long as people keep submitting to epic what needs to be touched up, epic will continue to make more patches and updates to the game.

and a SONY BRAVIA full HD 1080p TV

I have a 100mbit connection + all my setting are set for online play and I have never experienced lag as badly as when I play Gears2, should I upgrade my connection? Oh wait...

The lag is a HUGE issue in Gears and it is also the one thing they really need to fix for gears3. If you don't know that then I seriously doubt you've ever actually played Gears, now hush child.

Come on, I the game lags terribly. If you're playing someone across the country or in another country, your in big trouble. If this game doesn't get released with dedicated servers I won't even pick up the third one. I also bought Gears 1 and 2 at midnight, I loved Gears 1, but somehow they made Gears 2 laggier.

Who am I kidding though, this is a instant buy for me... love Gears. 5-player co-op campaign on Gears 3 sounds quite nice. I would love if they stop making the maps so friggin spacious... that's not what Gears is. You don't have to make maps that big for them to be EPIC. You must be among the few lucky ones who are host every other game. I have a 20mb down/20mb upload connection and my friend has a 50mb down/20mb upload connection and we both have sub-100ms ping to everywhere in the US. We are both legitimately trueskill 5 and have been playing since release. Since hitting the 4 and 5 trueskill ranks, all we get are boosters and foreign hosts, either in Mexico or Canada. Apparently our connections aren't sufficient for host, no matter which one of us opens the party. Somehow we still manage to win most of the time, but recently it has become so frustrating that we have retreated to other games.

when did "128vs128" made de facto a better multiplayer experience than 5vs5 ? More players doesn't mean more fun (I personally find 4v4 in halo way cooler than 8v8). The problem of gears2 multiplayer is the lag, not the 10 players limit.

You could still roll to the side getting hit with gunfire but hammers stop you dead on. Shotty are weak as fuk and with the lag they offer no real help against multiple enemies. you almost have to be dead on to get a one shot kill.The 2 piece is tone down a bit from before.Sh!t half of the time the shot misses because of connection issues. Lancers feel way to ineffective even at mid range. sometimes it feels as if your just alarming the enemy.

Be able to actually control what body part you chop off with the chainsaw so it doesnt just inhale you and take no skill to use.

Fix the lag and latency problems. Maybe make it 4 players on each team again?

Have better matchmaking where you play instantly with no waiting.

Better ranking system.

Screen shot/ video mode to record and upload past matches.

A more engaging story mode and a better ending than 2.

Thats all I can think of right now.

and killzone dose have a 24/7 community

and no matter how the community is big or small
the game will stay the same

Definitely is. I picked this game up at midnight and was let down terribly. I gave EPIC 4 updates and no improvement. I remember an interview with Cliffy B and he said "we didn't remove host advantage, but it's so minimal, you won't even be able to tell who is hosting the game". bullsh*t. I don't know how they did it, but they made the multiplayer with even more lag than the original.

All Games game have a certain amount of Auto Aim. COD has the most followed by Halo and Gears is so slow you don't really need it. Some games require more skill than other to be good at it. All games require some form of strategy. Games like Gears and Halo have you run around a map looking for weapons that assist the inferior player.

Killzone 2 is hard to aim because there is not that much auto aim. You have to have good eye and hand coordination or you need to practice. Games like Halo, COd and Gears are made easy so they can appeal to a wider demographic.

What is sad is as each new generation of gamer get so used to games that really don't require much skill. They can't adapt to a game that requires much more skill to play and just assume it's the game that the problem.

Console Gaming has Indeed changed.

Like I said, All games require Skill. Gears may be fun but on a skill level compared to Killzone it can't compete. With improved programming online console gaming has changed for the worst for players like me. Games are now made so the average player can compete at a higher level and most of you don't even realize it. I can't tell you how many of my son's friends that didn't even know that Halo and COD has auto aim. That's the beauty of Auto Aim Assist compared to Auto Aim Lock ON. Noobs don't even know the difference. They just know they are just as good as YOU!

Gears and Halo are fun but that also have equalizers that help the inferior player. I don't play competitively any more so I just watch my son owned people online everyday in K2 Clan Battles. All his friends who come over and watch him play say he makes it look so easy. Gears and Halo will appeal to a wider demographics because it a lot easier than Killzone.

Bottom Line. If you consider yourself a competitive gamer that want to play a game that requires a lot skill then Killzone 2 is for you. Clan Battles against the best players are second to none.

If you just want to play a game that you can just pick up the controller and become an instant Killing machine then COD is for you and all the other noob casual gamers that have made this game so popular.

If you want to play a game the requires some skill then Halo and Gears is for you.
