XBL avatars to adopt pets?

Source: A Microsoft patent application reported on by Siliconera proposes a system that would compensate users for swapping out their avatars with corporate mascots, possibly with virtual food for their virtual pets.

What Gamespot.com heard: With the next Xbox Live update set for August 11, Microsoft will begin monetizing its system-wide avatars by selling virtual clothes and accessories for actual money. The company is looking into more ways to pull money from Xbox 360 players' counterparts, as its patent application reveals.

for home a few months back and now u know y microsoft is doing it the same thing about watching movies together at home space just like microsoft is doing how about if microsoft comes up with something on there own natal is nothing but a stronger eyetoy i own all three but it seems like microsoft should try to do something on its own without third party payouts and something not halo all those brains and no ideas sony and nintendo does very well create and renovate the gameing world milo sucks eyepet rules i love the dash board with natal and if microsoft wont drop the price on live then at least let one console let u use different gamertags not fair that we have to pay for each gamertag on one 360

I'm sure if they thought of mascots then they considered animals too.
If they patent that idea then there no chance of it happening in Home, (and vice versa) unless we got some monster pets rather real world ones.

Come to think of it, wii really needs to get on the ball with a Pokemon MMO.

People are going to spend actual moneys on their Avatars?
They just make weird faces and point and wave while in parties... even though mine's awesome & dressed like a trenchcoat flasher, she is getting no $$ from meee.

Plus, a pet for my avatar sounds lame. I don't want to throw money at M$ for that nonsense.. I use my 360 to game, not have useless junk on it ..

Your aware that Microsoft stole all these ideas from Nintendo as usual. The difference between the two is that MS will charge for everything.

Regardless i would go lesbian for Mii Avatar pets. Wait a minute, all i can do is weigh them so therefore i must create pet avatars in Wiifit plus? MS got punked by Ninty 6 months ago.
