What Mirror's Edge 2 needs to be successful

If there was one company who had the creative talent to put out something as fresh and innovative as Mirror's Edge, I would have never guessed it'd be EA. Surprising as it may be, DICE put out a great product, one that tempered a well-defined genre into something unheard of and, believe it or not, fun. EA has recently stated that a small team is working on a second game, which means this generation's creative paradigm has been given another chance.

The only thing that ruined the game for me, were the graphics. Not that they were bad, but it seemed to me like the developers didn't know wtf they wanted. At first glance, the games looks cel shaded. Then, you take another look at the character models, and they look as if they're stuck between cel-shaded models and on the verge to trying to be photo-realistic. Mirror's Edge 2 needs to stick with one type of visual and not struggle to do both.

Another thing relating to graphics that annoyed me, were the cut-scenes. They seemed like those dating service commercials I used to see on TV. The commercials were fine, but seeing that style used in a game was just....disgusting.

I dunno what they can do with Mirror's Edge 2 and maintain that "feel".

Playing it, you know there's not a lot wrong with it or a lot that can, at its core, be changed, but you also know there's still room for improvement and lots of tweeks they can make... maybe less trial and error?

I kind of liked the graphics, What I hated was the controls; I played the demo and it was not intuitive, I like movements to be some how intuitive but this was not the case. There were some moves I was having problems with and I hated it. Obviously I didn't buy the game.

Make it third person! That would do it for me.

Uhm yeah that game is called Prince of Persia.

Making Mirror's Edge third person would ruin the core of the game because the first person view is what made it so impressive.

Making it 3rd person would ruin it for 99% of its fans. So no.

I said for me..and I did not make a mistake. I dont care what you think, its what I would want. It is called an opinion.

Also spitting out percents when you know nothing, its kind of like a canceling effect right? Get over yourself nerds.

For me, I wished they made each mission it's own mini sandbox type area, and it didn't box you in as much. The current missions, while letting you take multiple paths, were still the same small linear routes. Free running is about being free to go where ever you think you can get to.

my top 2 complaints: 1)Game length 2)Awful Cutscenes
other than that the game is really refreshing and fun.

I really like EA this gen, the same cannot be said for Activision
