Eternal Sonata also coming to the PS3?

The ESRB is bustling with rumors today with Tron, Art of Fighting and also Eternal Sonata. Way back at Tokyo Game Show 2006 Namco Bandai announced Eternal Sonata (aka Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream in Japan) as an Xbox 360 title. According to the ESRB it looks like Eternal Sonata is coming out for the Playstation 3 too. Thinking back to the announcement, Namco Bandai never said that Eternal Sonata was an Xbox 360 exclusive, they just mentioned it was in development for the 360. There is a chance that Eternal Sonata might get a dual release 360/PS3 release, but another possibility is Eternal Sonata will be a time exclusive game on the Xbox 360 similar to Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. If Eternal Sonata really is coming out for both the PS3 and the X360 would that change your mind about buying an Xbox 360 or encourage you to purchase a Playstation 3?

I'm not too surprised if it's true. As much as this is my most anticipated game thus far... I don't mind it going to the Playstation 3 as long as Namco makes more multi-platform RPG's =D! Broaden the audience, come on Tales hehe.

I would think Namco would make an announcement of moving it to the PS3 after the 360 launch cuz it is looking fairly big in Japan. Anyways, as long as I still can play it on the 360 I'm happy =D

3 - This game is on my Radar

I'm not sure which one comes out first Blue Dragon or this one. Eitherway I need an RPG to sink my teeth into. I have a 360 and thats what I will purchase it for, simple as 123.

Now NAMCO when will I see Soul CAliber 4? Not the last POS for the PS2 you put out, that was a dissappointment. Still my favorite fighting game besides, MK, and street fighter.

5.1 - well though we being hardcore RPG fans

would love to play both BG, and LO on ps3 that aint happening simply because MS is the one publishing those titles. not to mention that Mistwalker's Sakeguchi-san wasn't impressed with the ps3 when he did his trail with it. i guess he it was too hard for him or it just's not easy for him to developer for like the 360 is... more than likely would if we want to play both BG and LO we'd have to buy a 360 and at tht point i'll just borrow my friends and rent both games from Gamefly and play it on his rather than purchase a 360... i am gonna do that for Mass Effect and Too Human.

6 - Miswalker studio hates Sony for some reason though, the creator very firm on that..not sure why..it is sad to see. Blue Dragon coming to PS3 is good even if after Timed exclusive; but i dont think it will happen

that's b/c Microsoft funds Sakaguchi's studio, and Microsoft publishes their games, all in an attemp to improve the appeal of the Xbox360 and Microsoft name in Japan. So BlueDragon and anyother games made under Mistwalker will NEVER be on the PS3. When Sakaguchi was in SquareEnix he was more of an overseer/producer than a developer, much younger guys with fresher and newer ideas were the ones directing the games. I'm guessing that made sakaguchi a little bitter and then Microsoft came and offered him to be the bigboss of his own studio (mistwalker). Microsoft probably gave him a large salary, nice studio to work in and most importantly... freedom to do whatever he wants to. After all that, i wouldn't blame him for being a little baised on Microsoft's side. Most developers become that way when they work exclusively for one company.

Assuming it comes true, it does make sense. Playstation gamers are more receptive to RPGs, as are Japanese gamers. It would probably do well on the PS3.

9 - I'm not surprised by Namco

The only exclusive game Microsoft ever had with Namco was Breakdown. I think it was an experiment for Namco since it was an first-person fighter. They may have thought that it would appeal to Xbox owners. Also, Mistwalker is funded by Microsoft projects. Without MS there is no MW. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are 360 exclusives and will never be ported to the PS3.

this is great for ps3 owners... they'll get to play this game... but with the amount of money that microsoft has put into it (bundled 360 in japan and all) i'm sure it will still be a timed exclusive... not to mention there has been no advertisement for the ps3 version, not even on the official site, where they list xbox live features, the release date, and only the xbox 360...

Some of those games you're talking about are published by MS. lol Cross your fingers for Eternal Sonata.

People are getting so desperate they're making up news and speculating on the unknown alone. lol

The game makes more sense on PS3 LOL the Japanses will buy what they want on whatever console its on, they buy the PS3 because they know what coming; a few good games can help sway the market any way depending on who's launching the most AAA quality games in Japanese taste. I'm Sure they'll welcome new IP's.

If MS can release some good racers, some sort of flight game, a few epic JRPG's, and even some "globaly thoughtful western style games" they could start winning some market over there. Cross your fingers on Eternal Sonata coming to the PS3.

You type as if releasing a few "epic" JRPGs is very easy to do, and didn't MS alreadly have some good racers??? Project Gotham and Forza??? (ofcourse we all know neither of those games can go head to head with GT in terms of sales).

that's not true, the japanese are very baised and loves products made from their own country. Sony is one of the biggest household names in japan, and b/c of that if the same game (that japanese people has interest in) were to be released on both consoles (DMC4), it should be pretty clear that the japanese would rather buy the PS3 version.

ESRB.org mostly give us the slighty hint about possible launch dates and those kind of stuff.
