That's just a fact. RE5 had no "soul" in it.

OTOH, Dead Space was surprisingly well-polished, especially for a brand-new IP.

Anyone who hasn't played this game should really try it.

Dead Space vs. RE5 is living proof that co-op does not make a survival horror game better. The co-op was fun, I'll give it that, but it was not necessary.

Now I can only hope Dead Space 2 and RE6 are smart enough to not have co-op, or AT LEAST have a single player where you don't have a mentally incapacitated AI partner the entire game...

One of the BEST games this gen. The gameplay is super solid, the graphics are clean, the lighting is awesome, and the final boss intro is AMAZING!

Really, if you consider yourself a gamer of any level, buy this game, rent this game, or borrow it from a friend and play it!

I am eagerly looking forward to Dead Space 2 as the first just screams quality from start to finish.

If you think you would enjoy the game again with a little more challenge then yeah its worth it. Only big changes are enemies do more damage to you and ammo is much more scarce.

Also, the game has trophies. Do you need another reason to play it again...? :p

Dead Space is really damn good. If you missed it this is a good chance to pick this up.

After playing Dead Space, it's easy to understand why people are so pumped about Dante's Inferno as well, Visceral is all about high quality.

what can i say...

This was my game of the year !

my favourite new IP this gen as well...

I have said it over and over and never get tired of saying. you can read all my comments on this game. i love it.

I won't be as harsh as to say someone is a retard for not liking it. but i will say this, i played gears 2, resistance 2, farcry, fallout3... name the rest. this game blows them away.

It does not need multiplayer, no stupid promises of never before done gameplay, no patches, no glitches ! it took a load of concepts that we have seen before, but it pushed them and blew them through the roof with REAL next gen style ! When this gen started, this was the sort of standard i expected from all games... most have fell well short.

The build up to it was so cool as well, the short comic clips really got me hooked. The story was cool and i really can't wait to see it expanded on.

the only negative i have is not of the game, but the movie. some parts of the story didn't tie in with what we had already seen in the game. i don't want to go into detail for those who have not watched it.

anyway, its a good deal. this is the first EA game that i have bought and kept. its worth it.

me to, i paid full price on day one.. and i would pay full price again. its worth it and the dev's deserve the money.

you know what i love about this game as well.

look at the comments above.

its a multiplatform game, and everyone is saying how much they loved it ( well nearly everyone) no comments about which version was better, no comments about which platform was lead, no comments about which had the most bugs, or which version was gimped ! everyone just agrees that its a great game, one of the best this gen.

I have a dream.. one day, all fanboys will see games like this. they will see games for what the games are, not for what platform they are on, not for which version proves their system the best.

dead space is proof that is can be done.

What Dead Space has that RE5 doesn't have is a truly scary playing environment. RE5 could hardly be called scary in any way. But what RE5 has that Dead Space doesn't have is the level of replayability. RE5 has a lot of unlockable goodies that make the game more than worth playing through multiple times plus the Mercs mode which is just awesome. If the next Dead Space follows suit and adds unlockables something like what RE5 has done, it will become the defacto survival horror game genre leader.

At any rate, they are both great games and Dead Space at $20 is an absolute must buy.
