1 - Go Valve!
This is, basically, how to make games. I've yet to even buy L4D, but I will now.

No... this just proves it's the same exact game. It's a smart move but it really just shows that it's the biggest rehash in existence for this to work.

Just thought i would point out that user created is for PC and not for 360. So this should be in PC section instead of 360

Within 10 minutes of L4D2 being unlocked on Steam, someone will port the original survivors with their sounds and everything into L4D2.

So this is basically confirming that L4D2 is slight upgrade to the original engine. And that L4D2 should be a discounted expansion pack for L4D2 instead of a full price game...

Valve games are always cheaper than other games. That's why Valve has so many fans. They'll hold 50% off sales on their newest game and it will sell more during that weekend sale than the first week of its release. Valve are marketing geniuses and have the software to back it up.
Edit:
LEFT 4 DEAD 2 CAN NOT POSSIBLE BE DLC.
It's larger than the first game. If you have an Xbox, do you honestly expect to download a 10 GB DLC package off of Live? The size for an update is 800 MB.

the size of the second is large because its the first game, plus whatever they did to mod it to call it "2". The first game is close to 5 gigabytes. so, this new one only adds a few gigs. so the dlc would only be ~3-4 gigs. so, yeah, this is valve ripping people off some more.

It will be about 10 GB on PC. They have to compress the textures and cut some sound files to get it on the 8 GB DVD.

PC games don't run off of discs. You just install it to your computer and then you don't need it any more.
Valve games don't need discs at all considering you can just download it off of Steam. Orange Box on PC was two DVDs, but on 360 it was one because they cut a lot of sounds and took some texture detail out in order to fit the 8 GB size budget.

Very few games need the game to start. There's fixes you can get so that you don't need to have the disc in there, and with Steam, you don't even need the disc to install the game.

so basically if you have a 360 you don't need 10gb of space to download the game, you probably need around 8gb or less.

As I've said before I'm looking forward to L4D 2. My only problem is that I don't like the new survivors at all. I liked the originals a lot better.
