Wow DS kiked everyone's behind. PS2 is gone and the HD consoles 4th and 5th. Wonder what happened to 120 +Million Ps1/PS2 owners? As i mentioned in some other thread, Japan is moving towards the handhelds specially the younger generation who are addicted to texting or playing on the go. So this market does not count much towards the overall sales of the next gen consoles.

I think what people are missing from this is how 1/4 of the xbox360's total sales (in japan) came from just half a years worth of sales. :S

Because the Wii eventually outsold the PS3 for the first 6 months of this year, though the PS3 started off kicking ass? 'Cause back then, Japanese sales seemed as if they were actually the most important or something.

Because despite these sales figures, Japan plays an important role in the whole industry. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to pure Sales, I agree that Japan's impact is overblown by the media, but 2 of the big 3 come from Japan, so Japan will always have a large influence on the market as a whole.

Ironic, don't you think, considering 4 out of those 5 machines are Japanese. Not to mention that because of Japan, the Playstation 3 is balanced out per year worldwide with the 360.

There's so many people who want that but it wouldn't be Miyamoto that'd give it us. It'd be Iwata and Sakurai.

I still want it though with some more of their portable characters on there.

Yep Japan is definitely going to help the PS3 edge out the 360 Patcher, most definitely....

The Wii sells more than the PS3 in one month in the US than the PS3 sells in 6 months in Japan, infact the same could be said for the Wii as well considering its sold 700,000 in one month

Of course it helps. The lead is 2 million+ after 2-3 years of existence which would probably jump to 5 million with a price-cut in another 2 years time plus the release of Final Fantasy 13, VERSUS and 14. Suddenly the XBox "lead" is down to a mere 2/3 million.

Tokyo.

Love it.

A place where you get served a nice cold Asahi beer on the Shinkansen (bullet train) by the staff , and a bow as they exit to the next carriage....

I Swear the public transport system there is incredible, there really is no need to drive.

On the train , All i can say , If they arent holding a mobile phone its a DS or PSP !!!

My PS3 is 4th, I can no longer enjoy PS3 games noo... wait, that's right I don't play games and I do not think the same as reviewers and that's why I enjoy games regardless of sales or score but because they are fun for me.

Stop ranting about sales and play the game, it doesn't matter it it sold one million or 1 so long as you play it and like it then it's a good game or system.
