I picked up a copy for both myself and brother in law. But all of my friends play the PC version...only 2 or 3 others play the 360 version. Oh well, couldn't pass it up!

indeed. it may not be much of a sequel, but it is coming a full year after the first. Your example isn't great though since gow2 and restance 2 both came out like a year after the originals

Gears 2 came out 2 years after the original. I haven't played L4D yet, but usually it's bad news when a sequel comes out so soon.

Yet another reason I <3 Blizzard: they never rush a game. StarCraft 2 is coming out 11 years after the original, and the time has been well used.

Back to the point of the story: if only Target weren't on the other side of town I'd go check it out right now...

yeh my mistake i actually meant to put 2 years lol the only games that come out after a years dev time are sports/party games. i'm not counting COD cus although theres 1 each year, each game has 2 years dev time.

It does make you wonder how they could get out a true sequel so quickly after the first tbh

Gears 2 and Resistance 2 didn't include the campaigns of the originals in them. The full campaign source level files are available for L4D1 now, so even if Valve doesn't port them, the community just has to press F9 and compile them. Call that fair? L4D was a beta, people who bought it should feel shafted.

5 - i may have to pick this up.
i currently don't own anymore games for my 360 ( i traded in the ones i DID own), and really need something to play on it.

i enjoyed what i played of L4D on the PC, but i'd much rather have it on the 360, so me and my fiance can play together.

Maybe they're counting on public ignorance to not know that a Left 4 Dead 2 is coming out soon. I mean, we all know that it is but we spend a lot of time on the net looking these kinds of things up. The general public might see the game at the store and also see that it says Game of the Year on the box and suddenly L4D sales might spike.

I think, however, for those people who do know about L4D2 but have never played the first (like me) should go out and buy this game because it gives us the opportunity to see if we will enjoy it enough to invest in a sequel.
