LOL and FF8. Odin has been in more than one game, just like Ifrit and Shiva.

Give it to typical ignorance to think Odin started in FF7.

the summons in ffXII were awesome, to bad they were completely useless, but the ideas behing them were really cool, the lore behind them, being guardians of the ancient world etc, and different elemnts, for me no summon can ever be cooler than Anima....but we'll see

Summons and magic were what set FF apart from the rest. Oh sure, other rpgs had similar concepts. Like Enchanted Arms' magicore golems (I'm a little hazy on if that's what they were called), and lots of other rpgs had their similar summon-like spells. But FF maintained a constant roster of characters and spells that showed up in one form or another.
Also, FF always tried to reinvent itself. They added new spell systems, new purposes for those spells, and new ways to work with "magic", whether it was with traditional MP or GF Junctions or sphereboards.

7 - Perfecting ?
How about "Creating" new summons instead?
These summons have been used over and over, why can't they just create a new one ?
PS:
In this pic, it looks like a he's "riding" her.

Isn't this summon system straight from FF8's GF summon system? God I love that game.

They are copying Shaman King and White Knight, lame as hell.
Square Enix has really lost originality ever since FFX.

3 - Perfecting summons?
I don't see why they would bother perfecting anything seeing as how this game will flop just like the rest of their mediocre garbage.
