Neversoft defends Guitar Hero song pack pricing

NowGamer: Guitar Hero's song pack pricing has faced some criticism in the past, but producer Brian Bright explained to NowGamer the amount of work that goes into producing each track and defended their price.

"It's a lot of work," said Bright. "First of all we need nine streams for all the audio. Then everything gets note-tracked. And just for one guitar-track, it can take a guy a week..."

They can defend it all they want. 60 dollars for a bunch of songs featured in old guitar hero's? Such a rip-off. I own Guitar Hero 1, 2, and 3 on the PS2 and now they are worthless because the games won't recognize the PS3 controllers. I don't have my PS2 anymore because my PS3 is backwards compatible.

So even though I have spent around 200 dollars for GH 1, 2, and 3, I have to spend 60 more just to get half the songs on my PS3. Unbelievable.

Sorry to complain so much but this game really should be 30 dollars or so.

You do know this has nothing to do with the new game, right? They are talking about the DLC track packs. The ones that are like 5.49 and the songs by themselves are 1.99...

Nah, its a pretty reasonable price. It's weird that he didnt even mention lisensing fees, audio mixing and quality assurance though.

I still find it hilarious that Brian Bright said they had a sh*t load more staff than HMX and thus could produce so much more content for GH fans. GH continue to release crap DLC at slow amounts while HMX are bringing out a whole bunch of albums and things like The Who 12 pack, Iron Maiden 12 pack, and averaging like 8 songs a week.

Brian Brights such a chump, it's hilarious, neversoft should have kept running down the Tony Hawks name rather than destroying any credibility the GH brand name had.
