"From what I understand, a bunch of basement-dwelling emo kids are upset that the price of the new Halo Wars DLC is so high considering that it's a measly 2mb download. Apparently some people need a few things explained to them."

The Halo Wars DLC are just rules for the matches. This takes almost no time at all to create and shouldn't even cost money. That's like Capcom asking you to pay money for the Championship mode in Street Fighter 4. It's just ridiculous and this article is full of crap, probably some Microsoft employee thinking that calling people emo is gona make them think "OH NO WAIT IM NOT EMO IM GONA GO BUY THIS TURD DLC, I LOVED BEING ROBBED"

Exactly right. A person is wholly responsibly for whether or not they download it. If they do, then moaning about the price (at least for them) is a hypocritical exercise. By buying it, regardless of HOW you feel about paying for it, you continue to feed the cycle.

The fact is, if no one bought these various packs, skins, or whatever other pittance of DLC devs decide to charge $10 for, the publishers might actually be forced to release this stuff in its intended state--free.

Or at the very least, have the DLC "unlocked" on the disc if its already on there.

The price of DLC is justifiable if the service your downloading through is free.

On Xbox Live you have to pay $50 so you can chatterbox away with 8 of your buddies and get exclusive "demos" and "dlc" for games that assure you microsoft is just milking all they can to keep there gamers happy when the shovelware they spew is trash and overhyped halo map giving garbage

On top of that you have to pay for things not even at a "gold" membership discount but at full price.

Would it be that hard to at least give your gold members more incentive? Something that makes them feel like there saving more money this way like ANY other kind of subcriptions??

DLC is fine of the PsN for DLC ranges from 1080p Full games that outperform games being developed to this very day.

5 - It depends....
If the download only consist of pure text coding (no images, object and what not) ... then 2MB IS A LOT from a programmers perspective. And yes it would be worth it depending on the value the coding brings. The code could use sources already available on disc such as maps and costumes or what ever. So don't go judging or calling a company a ripoff before you know exactly what was done to create the content.

6 - I already vote with my wallet...
... I havent bought ANY DLC and apart from maybe the GTA DLC, and some other content that IS worth the money, I really don't intend to...

In fact, these DLC-scamming practices has just made me 'boycot' certain titles. I won't buy those games. I might mod my console and then play it, but I'll never buy those games from developers that try to scam me with that DLC BS.

im bichin about it not because its 2 mbs. but because we were completly ripedoff. how the hell do they release a rts with only 4 maps for 2v2?!!? 3 for 3v3 and 4 for 1v1.. its a damn rts!!! age of games had hundreds randomly generated maps. why not here?? not to mention the game only shipped with 2 modes!! versus and deathmatch. this crap was taken out on purpose to charge later
