Gears 2

Party like its 1999- play 1999 online matches
Gears 2.0- get 100,000 kills any mode.

These require a lot of time.

You can boost the 1999 achievement in local multiplayer, but it involves leaving your system on for loooong periods of time.

And 100,000 kills is doable...just replay the first part of the Brumak level over and over and over and over and over and over...*sudden headache*

Having an opinion is fine but don't go spreading your hate for it around. MS gave us the option of having achievements and not having achievements. Believe or not some people enjoy getting them but you're not required to get them so why are you even complaining? You sound like a prick who hates on something just for the sake of it. Does MS force you to try and get achievements in games? It's entirely optional.

must mean he hates all games. since PC has been getting these kinds of things, valve games, World of warcraft, ect. chevos and trophies make a game last longer, you want to try and complete it. and you know when you do it. not like it used to be, you had to buy a strat, or use a gameshark or codebreaker to find out what all the stuff in the game was and then try and find it yourself i you wanted to be lagit.

So right now you have only your mouth to show for how much gaming you have done correct? Atleast ps3 and 360 owners have a record of the games played, how much did they complete in the game and what special things did the accomplish in the game. And the only proof of your pc gaming is your hatered for console gaming.

I totaly concur! I still have not obtained it!

I must admit I am an Achievement whore as well. It's not like I buy a game just for it but after beating a game I always go in and try to get the points. It feels sooooo good when after hours of game play you FINALY get that one elusive point. Plus, you have bragging rights with your friends, etc. It's a good thing.

7 - Online Multiplayer achievements in general are horrible
I got atleast 10 games with online MP achievements that NO ONE plays. In other words getting 1000GS in those games are impossible and that's just plain annoying.

I completely agree. There's either no-one playing or they're from too far away. I tried Condemned 2 online and the few people online were American (I'm English). The games were unplayable. There's an achievement for blocking an attack online. I didn't get it. That's how playable it was.

i know it's on pc too, i just don't like it, that's fine if you like it, i just think some of the awards are stupid, such as the getting an award for 5 headshots in a game etc....and theres always discussions/arguments about achievements/trophies (360/ps3) and i just don't see the point getting worked up about something as stupid as an achievement, people seem to be more concerned with the achievements than the actual gameplay...i just see it as another thing where people complain when a game doesn't have trophies, who cares, if it does- bonus, if it doesn't...it doesn't mean a game sucks...people who are obsessed with trophies seem to think that its crucial to a game, i think they're irrelivant and pointless, just an opinion

While some games have terrible achievement conditions, (like the ones in the article) I believe they are actually a pretty cool idea. In certain games getting points for something I would do anyways is cool, but achievements open up new possibilities for things I might not do. If a game has exceedingly bad achievements, I just ignore them.

Some of the achivements in FEAR were fking annoying. Complete the game without dying, Complete the game without using slow mo, complete the game without using health packs etc.

I disagree because I found that rather easy... perhaps even fun. Sure, it took me a few tries on the last stage and I was always one or two measly points off but it was always doable.

My first play-through was on Medium, having to replay the game on Hard just to unlock <name of hardest difficulty setting> was a chore. Got platinum though! ;)
