Elveon NOT coming to PS3

Debunked. Nevermind aye?

PSU were contacted by 10tacle regarding Elveon and it seems that the information provided to them earlier today was inaccurate. They have been told that 10tacle have never confirmed a PS3 version of the game and that they are not currently working on it.

Good to hear the graphical quality needs to be top notch because this games story's going to be great. I was a bit sadend reading the PSU thread as if it was trust worthy to begin with.

secondly this update really brings into the question the reliability of PSU.com

"Speaking with Matthias Schindler from 10tacle Studios earlier today, we learned that Elveon, a Third-Person Action RPG for the Xbox 360, would be making its way to the PS3. It has been reported before as a game to look forward to on the 360, and PS3 owners will now be able to enjoy it as well."

Sounds to me like they put 2 and 2 together and got 5. Very poor journalism. They should have put it as a strong rumour or a way that didnt state that it was fact.

PSU have no credibility whatsoever in my eyes. They rarely to never know what they are talking about plus on top of that 10tacle said a while back that elveonis only for pc and 360. Anyways I've been looking forward to elveon for a while now and will probably be picking it up day 1. The combat soudns like its going to be good.

4.1 - How selfish

You might as well tell the developers to quit their jobs. People put their lives into making this game and you would steal? If the game was distributed as free then it would be fine to download it; however its not. Do everyone a favor and throw away your PC.

On a related note, the post is old news. Elveon isn't currently comming to PS3. Perhaps in the future? Not likely and a port at best.

Mabe its time i jsut buy another (4) 360 and be done with it. Its obvious that Sony got there butts handed to them this generation.

Microsoft when in 100% prepared, Sony treated it like just another generation.

9 - Mistakes happen

Hello everyone, I am a journalist over at PSU. While we got this article wrong, I fail to see how making one mistake discredits us so much. Misunderstandings happen, and we followed up to fix our error, so I hope you will continue to visit our site.

The problem was that the person we interviewed is not a native english speaker. We asked 3 times, and our understanding after all 3 times was that the game would be coming to the PS3 from what we were told.

We actually have four staff members down at GDC, so we are not just putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 :). Mistakes happen in the news industry, and we try our best to research our articles before we post.

Personally i think it is cool that you posted a reply but it doesn't really change my opinion.

Journalism is about delivering truth. You cited a member of staff as your source so most people would take that as fact. I understand translation problems as I deal with them all the time but by not including a direct quotation i feel you were not confident about your interpretation.

I am glad you posted an update but this was at the request of 10tacle who contacted your site. I am happy to see that they are checking what is written about them and are quick to rule out any rumors.

In these situations I always wonder how many people miss the update?, and then tell the news to someone else? I know this is not a big story (lets face it most games will go multiplatform) but by misleading your readers you create misinformed consumers who in turn could make incorrect decisions.

Personally i will look at news posted on your site as I feel it was good of you to reply. At the end of the day though I am not a big fan of single console sites as such sites are usually biased (I would like to point out that I am not implying that about your site) but I am willing to give yours the benefit of the doubt.

If a game is going to be dev'ed for the PC/360 and then ported to the PS3 then I'll have to bear more threads telling me that the PS3 is inferior since simple porting doesn't seem possible on these newer systems. Plus, I've got plenty to keep me busy.

I don't know how this rumor got out. I was happy to actually hear this good looking game was going multi platform. I have both so I will be getting it for 360 , as I like the concept.

What was this conversation like , did the dev simply say "we will be developing a title for PS3 in the near future." or what ? I can respect the guys from PSU are busy with GDC , as it's big for Sony but they obviously took a statement and ran with it.

Hey Marionz, when you go to post...don't. You didn't say anything constructive in that post. You were patting yourself on the back for making "the better" choice. The "best" choice would be to buy both like quite a few people on this site who have constructive things to say.

Elveon looks like a cool game that I'll pick up for the 360. The graphics looks sweet and obviously capable on all 3 platforms. I wonder why they decided not to bring it to the PS3 directly. It was probably just more work for them to code.

Is it me or are developers appearing a bit lazy. "It's too hard!!!" NO cheese with that wine!! MAN UP and bring us the best games you can!!! We all pay $60 bucks a copy (Except for that thief #4) so nobody wants to hear about how hard it is!! EA has proven to us what happens if you take the easy road with NBA Live tha bahstuds!!!

Well like he said they made a mistake, personally I don't follow PSU, but I would agree with pacman326 in that one mistake, or a mistake every now and then doesn't "blow" your creditablility....especially when you do the right thing a "fix it" as soon as possible. Now on the "flip side" I take everything from a "pro" playstation or "pro" xbox source with a grain of salt -not because they aren't creditable but I understand that they "need" to favor the brand they support (no sh!t) it caters to fans of that particular brand, so its not like they are the most objective anyway....either way I can appreciate any professional saying "hey I made a mistake" -with in reason, and of course your track record should speak for itself.
