I'm playing right now and have to agreed this game is damn good, the atmosphere it projects is genuine to the original F.E.A.R and the combat system is one of the best of any fps, everyone should give it a go and not just judge it by the demo as the full game is completely different and the story is worth it for any F.E.A.R fan.

I bought this game from game stop its absolutely horrid. Its going back to game stop tomorrow because my investment will be in killzone 2.

I was a fear fan but this game lacks some serious depth and does not feel modern at all. Hasta la vista baby

The AI was pretty impressive in F.E.A.R 1. But that was long time ago. The shooting was solid, but the motion was kind of wobbly. I wouldn't give the game more than 6.5-7.0 in graphics department. Sound was really awesome. Based on the demo I would have given this game a 7.5-8.0

Demo was OK except for a few things for me:

- Most importantly! The guns didn't feel real or weighty to me. The aiming mechanics and hit detection just felt off. People made a big stink out of this very thing for Killzone 2, and yet the whole time I'm thinking KZ2 feels fantastic and FEAR 2 just seems.... somehow unnatural.

- The little brief interjections of some otherworldly scenario were a bit annoying to me. I thought it was interesting at first, but then it just started to seem cliche. Every PG-13 rated horror movie that comes out in the States anymore uses similar jump-cutting in and out of freaky imagery to try and startle you. Doesn't work for me.

- The "cover" that you can kick over (shelves, cabinets, desks, etc.) don't really offer much cover. Seemed like a gimmick that doesn't actually aid you to take advantage, so why is it there? This complain isn't so big of a deal though, it doesn't hurt the gameplay at all for it being there, but it seemed like the developer's were trying to get me to think something about their game was cool and unique when I found it to actually be pretty much just for show, with no real purpose or usefulness. Then again, it was the demo and maybe that sort of thing becomes more important later in the game.

- The mech combat at the end was simply the worst mech combat I've ever experienced in my life. I hated every moment of it. The controls, the feel, the HUD, the design of the level and task at hand while piloting that hunk of junk. It was crap, in my opinion, and it made me delete the demo the instant it was over, because I hated that mech so much.

That's all just my opinion.

and finished the 1st 9 levels in 1 session, the game is fun, tried the multiplayer and didn't like it, I got this game solely 4 the single player campaign though and it was worth my money imo, so here u go, another opinion

i have to say i have read alot of negative stuff about this game. but i have been playing it for a few days now and i truly enjoy it. Now i have not played the first one, nor do i intend too.

Not being a big horror game fan i found this game really fun and it did creep me out when i looked down and saw Alma staring up at me when i was walking down a hallway. i gotta say 9/10 for the single player.. can't say i plan on doing multi player at least not yet.. by the time i finish this and Hells Highway it will be time for Killzone 2
