Development ended on PS3/360 Indiana Jones

DarkZero: With the recent announcement that Lucasarts are working on Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for Wii, DS, PS2 and the PSP, many people wondered what had happened with the "next gen" version of Indiana Jones that was highly boasted about a few years back, and if development of that game was happening, albeit quietly, concurrently with Staff of Kings.

However, this seems not to be the case, and Lucasarts have now confirmed they've decided to work solely on Staff of Kings, making a "strategic business decision" to end development of the 360/PS3 versions.

He did say he feared the HD version of Indiana Jones would get canned. Three weeks later, look what happened

Nathan Drake is going to be Mutt's son in the next Indiana Jones :P. The first 3 movies were the best btw. I wasn't into the 4th one that much, but the ending was a nice touch with the hat blowing to Shia :P.

I found nearly pathetic the "telepathic" powers of the villain in the last Indy. Let's see how this Indy game will sale without PS3 / 360.

Fracture was a complete and utter failure.

And I only played the demo.

I was very excited to see what the new and improved euphoria AI engine that was seen on that Star Wars game not too long ago.

Shame.

13 - Fracture.
This is ridiculous.

It appears that development of "Staff of Kings" was put on the back burner so that LucasArts could focus on "Fracture" -- a game which ultimately proved to be a dud. Not only did they focus on the wrong project, but LucasArts made it a complete fumble when they could not release the game concurrently with the Indiana Jones movie and all of the attendant hype.

What a stupid series of business decisions.

Guess the recession hit them hard as well, having to cancel the next gen versions in favour for the wii and ps2 etc.

Why because their old like Ford........

Too bad Indiana Jones couldn't have a better group of devs working on his series for him, like Naughty Dog. Lucas Arts is it's own worst enemy... they've got access to the best franchises and they just run them straight into ground..

What they need to do is start "giving" these franchises to other developers and taking a small fee for the IP license, while the developer/publisher fronts the cost.

The last great Lucas Arts games were definetely KOTOR 1 and 2, Empire at War and also Republic Commando.

24 - Was looking forward to Next Gen Indiana Jones
I hope that they only put this on the Backburner and didn’t completely give up on the PS3/360 version. I was so looking forward to the PS3 version of this game once I had played Indiana Jones & the Emperors Tomb on the PS2. I know that the PS3/360 version would sell a whole lot more units than then the Wii will.

If they still bring out the PS3/360 version than they are doing the right thing because the Wii is getting it’s own specialized version while the PS3/360 version are getting a whole different Indiana Jones game. Although if they canceled the PS3/360 version because they saw the Wii selling so well so they thought that they wouldn’t bother with they PS3/360 version because it’s taking to long then I think they made a HUGE MISTAKE. People wanted the PS3/360 version, I was one of them.

I swear when you see the promise in games like Indiana Jones & Eight Days and then they are cancelled I just don’t know why they don’t finish them espically when they know they will sell so well since they have already got people hyped up about them.

25 - Not a smart move...
It will maybe be a smart business move, as Staff of Kings will surely sell well. But ignoring next gen customers isn't smart in the long run.

Lucasarts have disappointed with Fracture and SW: FU, they need to shape up fast...
