Umm, no it's not. The free one is there so you can play coop with your friend who has the premium. So you can't play coop with someone who has the dlc if you don't have either of versions. I think the free one will get you some new items though but not the quests and stuff...

Gears 2 MP sucks, but the story and gameplay were solid. I can't say the same of Fable 2 or R2 as in your post. The story for R2 was bland, but the MP was fun.

It was fun. I was a fan of the first one as well but it became pretty repetitive. I finished it and traded it in already. With so many excellent games I find it hard to justify buying the DLC for a few hours more. Same thing with the GTA4 DLC. Done with GTA4, move along. I've got Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Resistance 2 waiting for some attention, and only a month or so till Killzone 2 hits.

I can understand someone saying Gears 2 and Fable 2 were a letdown. Neither of them were really much more than the originals and the stories for both were pretty bland. Personally, I had fun with both of them but I wouldn't jump all over someone who said they were disappointed.

I thought Lionhead had learned their lesson from the really p!ss poor ending to the original Fable. Lost Chapters added a little but still...

I really had, and still am having, a blast w/ the "open world" afterward ...but (and I mean a very BIG "BUT") the main story ending (boss????) was a total cop out. I was so disappointed.

Same here. The game did a lot of things right and made the end product fun most of all.

Emotionally, it has me especially when you have your kid even wife come to you giving you gifts asking if they can go on adventures with you. Things like that is what makes a game great for me and I personally liked their art direction.

There are some quirks and other things that annoyed me but far and in between. Certain glitches and quirks were fixed with a patch about a week ago.

I have to disagree with that. I thought Fable 2 and Gears 2 were good, but certainly not great. That was his point, it's simply a matter of opinion. I think Fallout 3, Uncharted, COD4 are great games. I don't think Fable 2 and Gears 2 fall into the category. It's funny that people would criticize him for simply having an opinion that differs from your own. I also thought Fable's ending was pretty weak, but for me the ride up to that point was enjoyable. Should people accuse me of not liking great games? That's ridiculous.

No, it's because there is a general consensus amongst authoritative sources within the industry that these games are in fact great. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there is such a thing as a more or less valid opinion.

Say for example that you think Citizen Kane is a bad movie, anyone with any sort of insight on movies would instantly brand you a moron, your opinion on that movie is invalid because you're basing it on (probably) ignorant criteria (or you're biased) for what is good and bad. More or less the same thing here.

Learn to differentiate between giving your opinion and attempting to state a fact. For example, I think Little Big Planet is an incredibly boring experience, but I would never of call it a bad game, it just doesn't appeal to me.

I beat both Gears 2 and Fable 2, and they are not great. They're good, but not great.

Games like Mass Effect, Okami, MGS4, Halo(1), GoW, and GTA:SA are great games. Gears 2 and Fable 2 just don't compare.

But this is my opinion, so take it as such.

Celt is not entirely Anti-Xbox. I've seen him show some compasion for its games in a few of his comments. Which makes me respect him more than most sony fanboys on this site.
