NXE Avatars need more variety

Neoseeker writes:

"Most Xbox 360 gamers appear to have taken to the NXE, or New Xbox Experience, for those who aren't in the know. Hey, don't laugh. There are gamers out there who just don't know their acronyms.

When Microsoft first launched NXE, I was plenty excited, like many of you. The new look was disorienting but aesthetically pleasing, a sleek improvement over the previous version if only in a visual sense. While some poked fun at the Avatars for looking like more attractive Miis from the Nintendo Wii, most of us were able to look past the vague resemblance, diving right into customising our little digital representations."

One simple setting. Allow users to change the primary color of the clothing. Thats it! It will add alot more possibilities.

NXE Avatars need more "Variety"

haha aren't we clever here at MS?

1.2 - Avatars need nothing...
...they barely need to exist. It was just as easy to see what friends were on before the update by simply looking at your *gasp* friends list.

However, for those obsessed with personalizing their 3D, online personas, yes, more variety would be welcome so as to more easily tell your friends apart at a glance... I guess...

clothing color change would be welcome but other than that i see no real reason...right now avatars don't do much until they are actually implemented on a large scale basis the customization they have now is fine

i have a feeling that when the primetime channel comes in the spring that a few more avatar options may be available

I find it a little cluttered myself (my eyesight is getting sloppy with age)but where do I find the option to change it?

I just hit the big X button and it brings up the old menu of tasks.
You can do all you need to do friends, msgs....
MS should have took all the development money for the new interface and just lowered the price of live

3.3 - @3.2:
And by "the x button," I know you mean the guide button. Not to be confused with, you know, the actual "x" button on the controller. Just to avoid confusion for 3.1. No flaming here.

As long as we don't have to pay for the variety...I'd like some.

6 - I don't know what this article is talking about.
Man when i first downloaded the NXE I was expecting way less from the Avatars. You can dress them up in a variety of different clothes and shoes I was amazed. Partly because the Mii's are so bare compared to avatars when it comes to clothes. So I'm happy with what Microsoft has provided, its not like any 360 owners were like "Yo MS we need some Mii rip-offs!" this is like a added bonus for all 360 owners sooo...... don't b!tch!

6.3 - Really.......
You're worried about a purpose? What is the purposed of any type of avatar? What is a mii for.....or an avatar in home......or an avatar in second life? They are just graphical represtations of a person. They aren't there for any other reason. Maybe you should calm down.

In 2nd life and in Home you can move and control your avatar...and you DONT have to pay for them.
In MS you pay for them and they are as useless as those on a web page.
Just because I think they are useless, dont mean I aint calm..

6.5 - Wait...what?
You don't have to pay for avatars at all. They are completely free. Your examples are terrible. You can walk around in home? You are still just staring at it. You can also do the moonwalk, but you are still staring at it. I can make my avatar hit his head on the screen.....still just staring. Oh and you want to talk about not free. How about all of the little home microtransactions. Have fun paying for the $5 beard pack. Everything related to NXE is free.

6.6 - @6.4:
A couple of things: first, you don't pay for avatars on the 360. And, second, let's try not to mention Home and Second Life in the same breath. Home is trash. The NXE avatars are trash. Neither serve any real, funtional upgrade to the systems in place before.

divide i'm not sure what you are talking about but nothing with avatars costs a cent, everything is free all you need is an internet connection, actually you don't ven need that you just need a box with the current dashboard installed

Just give me a BDU (Battle dress uniform) top to go with my BDU pants and I can have a full military uniform. With matching camo face paint.

And what pansy designed the clothes on NXE there are definitely some fruity individuals working on the xbox-live dev team.

actually the clothing is designed by fashion students in london and then turned into usable articles by rare

so any fruitiness that you seem to observe would be on them not the live team

I agree, just apply the option to go through the color spectrumm on each peice of clothing and you just upped your variety by like a 1000%. Easy it seems to me.
