WOW...I have to say I love your tired catch phrases...but to the point, you don't have the slightest clue what you are talking about. You hide behind owning each of the next gen consoles, but you don't know anything about what happens behind either one of them. You talk about the 360 being better than the PS3 for developers and for next gen gaming and the like, but you don't realize that it can't be boiled down to those blanket statements. Each one of those has to take into to account so many different variables its ridiculous. As far as which is better for developers, that depends on the developer and their inclinations. If the developer is more C/C++ oriented, then yes, the 360 has the advantage in terms of ease of programming. However if the developer is more inclined towards assembly programming, guess what, they are at a deadlock when it comes to ease, but the PS3 has more power that can be hauled out of it. I'll give you a couple other hints, the most efficient, performance oriented, code ALWAYS comes from assembly coding, not C/C++. A compiler will never EVER beat even a decent assembly programmer. What it comes down to is they are both great machines, but oriented in different ways. Microsoft's aim is to make things as easy as possible for the software developer, while Sony's goal is to give the developer as much power to work with as possible, even if it is tougher to access. For this very reason the learning curve is significantly higher for PS3 production and that will be reflected in the games throughout its life time, however the games will improve incrementally with each year, and while yes games will also improve with the 360 over time, the level of improvement will not be as steep. As far as next gen gaming is concerned, the concept of calling one system better that the other is simply idiotic. You say that there is not one game on the PS3 that has an advantage over a single 360 game, and that comment just solidifies your status as a 360 fanboy on this site. Owning each console doesn't negate that possibility so don't even try to point that out. I own both the 360 and PS3 as well, and there are games I enjoy on each more than some games on the other. Its simply a matter of opinion, and you opinion is hardly law. Don't blindly call me a fanboy as you have in the past and accuse me of just hating Microsoft, I'm actually interviewing with them for a full-time technical position within the next couple of weeks. My allegiances are not skewed nearly as much as many people on this site, including yourself.

I like this game and the nba street series.
I am a fan of both systems, i would also bet that if thise case were the other way around ps3 fans would be like yeah of course ps3 is better and 360 owners would be saying this game sucks, etc etc etc...

It's quotes like that that takes an otherwise credible comment and turns it into fanboyism. We all know that unless you are on the dev team or very close, you have NO WAY of knowing even 50% whether it was a port.

These type of comments are emotionally driven. Look at it this way, I'm not sure but I beleive that you posted the oblivion comparison yesterday. Today you hop to the other side, and post this story. (I apologize if I am wrong) All it seems like you are doing is trying to start FLAME wars. It was farely quiet in Gotham City, until you tried to take the bat mobile out for a spin Robin.

All I'm saying is that you seem to enjoy watching everyone on this site go at one another. Call it news, and you are just posting what's already out there, I call it garbage, and you're just Instigating.

Bethesda is upgrading the visuals on the 360 version as well, by bringing the new shaders to the 360. Anyone who still uses Oblivion in their argument is grasping at straws. Check out last week's 1up podcast...they slam the IGN "article" and point out that they have seen the updated version on the 360 and they look EXACTLY the same.

Some people are still using the PS3 "optimizations" to imply that there are still improved PS3 visuals...there are not. Period.

Ok I guess I'll have to say it again. Note I don't think it's because the ps3 is more powerful than the 360, but that they've had time to improve the game - but dont be upset that the 360 version will not be getting the enhancements - all fanboys need to read articles.

What we did for the ps3 is what can be done on the ps3, and the way the ps3 works is very different from anything else, so it doesn't really translate to take optimisations from things we've done for the ps3 and try and make that available, you know, on the PC or...it doesn't work the same, so... You know, there may be one or two things that we've done, like with shaders that work on any platform...but beyond that theres not a ton of stuff that was done on the ps3 that can be used."

Oblivion is a FULL YEAR later, what do you expect? Ofcourse if they have longer the time they can get more out of it. The 360 version was almost a direct port from the PC, almost no possibility for optimisation there.

So compare games that came out ON THE SAME TIME PLEASE

Because Kamakazi, DJ is lying and twisting always, with every game proving the 360 is the better choice for gaming he has some so called 'dev' info, just from another site. It's hilarious. Oh you bet I am a gamer and multiple people from here with a 360 that are on my friendlist can confirm, being online every day for a couple of hours @ night. No need to defend MS and the 360 because it's king and this article proves it again. But it's good to make this news go round the world, so people will buy the best gaming console and not the worst 600 dollar/euro buy ever

Building the PS3 engine from scratch, and you have to give Bethesda props for pulling it off in such a short time frame. In case some of you are wondering why porting between the 360 and PS3 is so much harder than back in the PS2/Xbox days, it's because ATI and nVidia graphics cards use completely different compilers for shader operations and such, and code that runs well on the Xenos will basically screech to a halt on RSX (and vice versa). The CPUs are also entirely different.

A few titles are actually escaping these 'porting problems' by creating separate teams for each version and simply sharing in-game assets. NBA 2K7 is a prime example of how proper planning can lead to successful multiplatform development.
